double standards

i see its ok for posters who havent got a pair to rip trainers jockeys stipes operators etc to shreds but when someone has a chirp at a presenter then the who you are thread story comes to the fore and the big babys report to moderator like nursery school kids ..

We have a difference with a jockey club report where the trainer was man enough to give his version as opposed to a personal attack from a nameless poster on hearsay on a race day
As we say damed if we do damed if we dont and if united had the balls to say who he was after numerous threads reported regards same poster
Enough is enough he is obviously on a mission so he can go to Sporting Post and try the same and lets see the outcome

The site allows people to use any kind of name and so we do. It's been said before if this is wrong then make everyone register with their full name. Would he have been banned if everyone knew who he is? Just asking! As pirates says some abuse some just post the most unbelievable crap and I'm not sure at what point you decide to delete or ban or who makes that decision. Also not sure what the answer is Dave but truly some comments are laughable and don't deserve a reply. Like a couple yesterday that got a few views but no replies .

I,and a few others, have always believed that if I won't put my name to what I'm saying ,I probably shouldn't be saying it,so I have always voted for "proper" names...IMO would completely change the credibility and value of this site
We have always been outvoted in favour of pseudonyms, but you guys cant have it both ways.....like when you don't like what somebody says ,he is a coward if he doesn't post his true identity!
Of course that means,by definition, that ABC is mainly a group made up of cowards ..which is what the establishment has been saying all along......hate it when their failure to communicate is justified

Most presenters, commentators have come in for stick at some point and the threads have been allowed to stand. In this case though I also sensed an undercurrent of something more "sinister". The poem U4E left that thread with implies to me that Dave's instincts were correct on this occasion. Unnecessary and unpleasant. Deciding what can and can't be posted on this forum is probably a thankless task. To their credit, Bob and Dave seem to let most things go despite it apparently often giving them plenty "problems". Personally, I have never had an issue with things they choose to stop. As Pirates says, if you don't like Mr Bon's style or whatever, or anyone else's for that matter, just hit mute. We can't be loved by everyone... says the man with more bad karmas than anyone else in the history of the known universe

I must be one of the most guilty of these offences . Just my personality and I speak my mind. So I will appologuise and try stick to the rules .
So in order to behave better I have undertaken to go for private lessons with Emma Sadler -
This weeks brief -
The shift from passive internet user to active digital citizen has brought about unprecedented levels of online interaction, creation and connecting. But as people begin to share more and more about themselves and their lives on social media, they are finding themselves getting into trouble for what they say and do online.
- Got to try something.

I agree with Pirates. This is why Racing people do not post. Pseudonyms kill the site, IMHO.

Louis IMVHO pirates is the biggest supporter of rebels without names however i agree we need people to drop the hide behind names
I have no objections to the silly hidden names but have requested to the IT guys that at least we know who the posters are? it might cause a drop in comments but prepared to handle the dip to gain more respectability

No problem Dave ....I am sure that eventually Louis will notice the irony of agreeing with a pseudonym to eliminate pseudonyms

I feel this site is a great for general discussion. The odd thorn will always pop-up from time to time though...
I've learnt a thing or two from the more experienced members/posters. (Dont know if that's a good thing or not) :woohoo:
Out of curiosity;
How do you change your username if you would like to?
Tried doing so a while back but can only change "name" and not "username"
