Who needs the Hawkes, this here thread will solve the crime, and the Hawkes can put up the pot for our next big compo :woohoo:
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I do hope Van Vuuren hires a good advocate who tells him not to say a word or ever get on the stand as the little I've read from him seems to suggest that his mouth might talk him straight o Robben Island! I also think he should be assessed as no normal person would do what he did and then force his way into the limelight

When the entire saga unfolded around Van Vuuren and him ditching racing after race goer criticism and banter...I smelled a rat..as surely if you want to be on tv and in the public domain you know you get fame and pain. Being a boss of many companies must keep you stern and unflinchable..to jump out like he did was a clear sign that an exit strategy was needed to cover the real eye of the storm that was brewing to his knowledge but not to the public at that moment.
To a great operator of sorts racing is a great mechanism to allow for cash movement to sales and re debits back to accounts if not used. ...an inconspicuos cash trail to legitimise a lifestyle...why buy a PE horse for a few million that won't get you back even 1.
Interesting what deal brokerage fees and running costs were. ..could be a small portion of what was actually flowing in the back doors. In this case the horse was the "manchurian candidate" setting the scene for smoke and ghosts. Like how we believe whats in media as reality...a person can easily be accepted by society without the journey actually walked.
Or maybe he was just madly in love with the game...with poor advice on whats worth its actual price...
