You should wait for official statement from Lucky and partners, imo.

JJ The Jet Plane will join Herman Brown for his Dubai raid. In an interview with SAHorseracing.COM Brown confirmed that the owner of JJ The Jet Plane and Lucky Houdalakis have decided to send the horse on an international campaign with Dubai as the aim. The ownership will remain the same.

"The horse will join me after the Mercury Sprint and will travel to England, then to the Hong Kong Sprint and onto Dubai," said Brown from his stable at Summerveld.

"The owner and Lucky confirmed this with me yesterday," continued Brown.

JJ The Jet Plane recently won the Golden Horse Sprint, carrying top weight, with ease. He has turned out to be a sprinter out of the top drawer and should enjoy much success overseas.

This is one of the main reasons our game does not attract new interest in it,there are simply no stars to attract the public. There are no household names like Sea Cottage or Horse Chestnut anymore, because the moment anything shows some ability it is shipped off overseas, only to be seen by the real diehards of the racing game.It all comes back to stakes again, and it's a battle that the owners in this country are unlikely to ever win as the share price and dividends dictate over everything else.

Ronaldo,Woods,Nadal etc are what bring people to a sport, not the also rans.People love overachievers, but we simply don't have them in our sport,or not for very long anyway.Good horses make great business deals these days, but I'm afraid the long term consequences are yet to be seen in terms of the effect on our local racing.

Cat. We spoke to Lucky on Sunday - am only reporting what he said. He also mentioned a sale price of Rxm which if I was an owner, would accept considering JJ has suspect legs!

Keep the horse and race him themselves overseas.....he owes the owners nothing!Look at Sun Classique,Jay Peg etc that werent sold....and you see the results.Enjoy the ride of him racing around the world. If he does ok his value can only increase.

I love you blokes, but this is nonsense.
Even the 2 examples mentioned are wrong. Horse Chestnust won 9 of 10 and was finished here and ran once before retiring in the USA, and pioneered the way for De Kock, a MAJOR PLUS for SA racing.

Name a horse that left a hole in our racing, or that we missed. Which Met or July needed horse X who had left to make a difference?

Punters have no business to even hint of disapproval if a private owner who has risked his or her own money accepts a good offer.

Again, what are the problems here? Horses are queued up to be trained. Boxes are in demand everywhere. Punting turnovers hitting alltime records. Stakes may be low, but the line of horses to be trained is over long.

The breeders supply more than 50% of horses at below cost, and racing in SA is such that a cheap horse has as much chance as an expensive one. (JJ was R70,000 I think)

What is the problem?
