So I tipped/backed a horse in the 11H55

its 8/1 in SA

in the UK it ranges from

15/10 to 2/1

You have never seen such a bunch of woosies in your life.

Did you know you can't watch SA racing UK bookies now ?

When arena sign the next deal I'd imagine Phumelela and GC are in for a shock

You sure it wasn't 15/10 and then went to 8/1 when you tipped it.

Surely a man of your expertise and knowledge would wait until near the off when the UK odds are in line with SA odds?

How confident are you? You think the blinkers will do the trick.

I hoped blinkers and headwind would negate distance. But slow away

You can still watch SA racing in William Hill, Paddy Power and Stan James Megabet shops as well as in some independents.

Personally I think Arena made a massive miscalculation when they forked out for the exclusive rights to show SA racing in UK betting shops. I don't think they grasped that UK bookmakers essentially only see SA racing as something to show at times of the day when there is no live UK and Irish racing taking place. They don't really care where this racing comes from and if showing SA racing becomes too expensive, then they simply ditch it for a cheaper alternative such as India or Hong Kong.

I like SA racing and it is a great shame that it has largely disappeared from UK betting shops, but I think Arena regarded it as much more important to UK bookmakers than it actually is.

What UK bookies really don't like,is punters going in the shops backing a 5/1 ew,when it's 6/4 in SA.Thats why you can only take a price on the Internet,so they can monitor who you are and as we all know your shut when you hit form or back over the odds for a short time..
I had a mate who worked at Ladbrokes and he reckons any regular overseas bets, especially Ireland your account is flagged up almost immediately
