Race 1 - Ice Art far too short, no bet with Sage horse scratched.
Race 2 - very trappy handicap, if pushed the two Alexander horses appeal but nothing stands out.
Race 3 - Pure Blond far to big now at 33/10, the class in the race and was given heaps to do last start after a rest. Arabian Beat the danger but things clearly just not right with this horse in my opinion.
Race 4 - another tough hcp but slight preference for western warrior. 11/2 each way is a good price give his last run and I'll be sticking with him.
Race 5 - not a good race, no value at current odds. Should pipkin drift to double figures I would get involved.
Race 6 - Blue Sage must be considered a good e/w bet at 10/1. Drop in class should put her close. If ridden aggressively from the draw she is a big runner.
Race 7 - another race where value is at a premium, Angelic Appeal at 20/1 could return to some sort of form but 2 very bad runs lately. Bindiblu looks hard to beat. Impressive run against the boys last time out and looks like the juice is gone on the price. If you got the early 11/2 you could be in the pound seat.
Race 8 - tough, low quality handicap to end the card. Throw your dart.

Best of the day - Pure Blond 33/10

R1 would rather take places on Shepards delight at more then twice the price then back Ice art at those odds.

R2 Very tricky race. Last girl standing has been losing a bit of ground at the start and if doing so again then may have too much to do on the tight inside track. Moss Gas, Bally Swiss and main roll all make some appeal but an absolute lunatic selection goes to the Tarry trained Never give in. Obviously has her issues, but if over them on third run after a rest could pop up. By no means a good thing, but at the prices worth a little nibble in my opinion.

R3 Dom Zaki on USO on Sunday said Bold coast would win (it did) and said Arabian beat later in the week, so I'm sure a lot of the money has come from such comments. I however would rather the horse win with none of my money on, have lost patience with this horse and thus am in agreement with Bayern re Pure Blonde. Not a betting race for me.

R4 Gun Fighter made initial appeal until looking a little closer. Master Boulder at 8's represents the value for me with western warrior and Hot August to be in the vicinity.

R5 Pipkin at 10's earlier in the week I thought represented a bit of value so it's encouraging that a bit of money has come. Varsity Princess beat a moderate field on debut and from a tricky draw has it all to do. Thus besides Pipkin another very tricky race.

R6 I'm glad Marco is back on September bloom and hoping she can be rewarded for consistency. Ap Chanel and Russian friend to also be in the places.

R7 Return to power's last win was extremely impressive. However I have reservations re the track. Think she may be more suited to a galloping track and therefore I've had to row in with Bright Bronte. Hoping she's the first leg of the Soma double with Tirzan in the last so back to what I feel is her favorite c/d with Weichong aboard il row in with her. Lunatic places on AP's Lilly if not just needing it.

R8 As mentioned above I'm hoping Soma can close off the meeting. The betting moves are positive and feel the track will really suit and has a lot of improvement still to come now that the penny seems to have dropped. Another with further improvement to come is inn a million. The rest are somewhat exposed and are going to have to find improvement to challenge in my opinion.

Overall not a card to get the rent money out, but only one Gauteng meeting mid week so I suppose we've got to have a go.

All the best clanners.

Pure Blonde hardly helped up top last start (rider since has had surgery) - went this way that way and eventually ended u back on the outside rail - concur with many here that he will win...
Ice Art - take sw exacta with Eeshara
Russian Saint
Bondi Blu
Inn A million
bear in mind many of these horses were prepped for Vaal so the change to T Inside may well not be ideal
