Alec Forbes - devastating news

Started hearing reports a few hours ago that he was taken to hospital yesterday/ lastnight feeling ill after Scottsville.

Sadly the news got worse and we have had many messages saying he has passed away.

Rest in Peace Alec Forbes. Condolences to all concerned.

One of my all time favorite jockeys. Backed him in the 1990's on a filly called Gleaming Sky who won the Natal Oaks at any price. Also Highland Night when winning the Gold Cup was a stand out for me. Always will be remembered for his association with Val De Ra. Go well Alec.

Sincere condolences to his family for a life lost way too early.

I will always be thankful for the Grade 1 winner he rode for me, his transparency & friendly nature and always being a gentlemen.
