R12,593 - are you going to take this up with the tote ?
Even if they spin the yarn about 'the past is past and divs has been paid out' - what about going forward ?

.....doing away with stable couplings was the worst move made by the tote....but for them it gets more carry overs .....so what they lose in the minor midweek and average weekend pools....they are then guaranteed to get the bigger investment when they have these carryover megapools..... :S

I don't agree with them - I think couplings will aide turnover - if there are 200 winners at 10k they will reinvest but one winner at 2 million will take it out the system surely.

.....yeah that was the idea.....to pull the mugs into the megapools.....when these pay in the 6 figures .....it is not your average joe punter with a ticket or even a %.....it is the mega high rollers that have scooped the pool with a big perm....

7 years 9 months agoYes that was the rationale BUT the situation has changed - Racing CAN NEVER compete with Lotto payouts so why bother? Make it easier for people to win not more difficult - I know so may Lotto fans who play every week and every few weeks they win something back and the big one keeps them coming back for more - Imagine playing only the P6 in Flamingo week after week - How hard is it to win there? So a major portion of punters don't touch that pool - just look how low it is every weekmydada wrote: If i recall correctly the removal was for racing to compete with other bets that offer life changing wins

Racing is actually in a position to compete with the Lotto far more effectively and more favorably for players than what we have seen thus far. Innovation in pool betting is in it's infancy and traditional racing products are way off the mark when it comes to putting players first. Exotic pool betting could be the saving grace for racing both here and internationally as it can offer real value, affordability and excitement to players. Big time punters enjoy the certainty of fixed odds when backing horses but pools can offer far superior returns when packaged creatively.
The day will come where I will demonstrate the value of player friendly formats that will make this game the best, and best value in town again.

With the Lotto all you do is pick numbers and hope - The pools are Massive - Now unless your idea is a Lotto style game where no skill is involved then I don't see any reason why the vast amount of Lotto players would ever turn to Racing -
