If Smokey Affair is fit enough, then she should be very competitive today. MDK has had good success with ex-cape runners thus far, Kilrain and Elevated. Smokey Affair was always rated by Fourie in the Cape but was very disappointing in her last start there. If she can reproduce her earlier form, that's far above what any of the fillies here have achieved. 6th in the Fillies Guineas and 4th in a grade 2 where all the horses that finished ahead of her are group horses. She's talented at her best. I'd be willing to take around 4/1 or so.
