All have plus and minus points, don’t tie yourself down to one bookie

Lance Michael the best in JHB by a country mile. I think only the branch at Hillfox still open. Service is great and Lance and his staff great. His Rand burg branch is closed I believe but that was great as well. In Durban many good options to choose from. Never had or heard of Lance limiting bets but admittedly that was 4 or so years ago.

It shows how peoples experiences differ. IMO Lance Michael is the worst bookmaker by a country mile. Had bets limited and account closed because if you take too much value on their opening betting that's what they will do. Only bet online so can't comment on anyone's branches.
Had an account with Keith Ho's Betxchange for many years and found them to be the best. Always friendly and professional, great odds and can get whatever bet on that I want. I would recommend them as your first.

Is anyone using Morris Vee online yet? Are they still not doing early betting?

All of the bookmakers are good until you back a winner or two. They will love you at the start & then wouldn't piss on you if you catch fire. Keith Ho the only exception.

There are no best bookmakers. If you can, use a Betting Exchange (Betdaq, Betfair, Smarkets, etc.)
Otherwise limit yourself to one or two big punts and do them in cash. Go into a branch, bet so that the total of your winnings + your stake is under R25,000 (otherwise you have to FICA & you are no longer anonymous). Do this with multiple betting slips, branches and bookmakers. It's the only way that you can win.
Having an online account is suicide. It stacks the odds into the bookmakers favour incredibly. That is why over the past 15 years there has been an explosion of online bookmakers worldwide. You cannot win with an online account because:
- easier access means more bets and more ways the bookmakers overround kills you
- easier access means more stupid & on a whim betting
- when you lose they let you lose
- when you win they limit you very quickly (or ban you)
- they have so much data on you that there is no way that you can win. They will just limit your winning avenues and guide you down loss making paths
In almost 40 years of gambling the only way I have made money is to wait for a good bet, bet big and keep my anonymity by betting in cash under the radar
I defy anyone on here (that isn't a bookmakers mole account) to say that they make money with an online account.
If, however, your modus operandi is to bet R10 and have fun. Then any bookie will do
