"Who to trust and what to look for"

I am new to horse racing and I love it my problem is the following who can you trust and what to look for???

Tipsters charge a fortune and give you a winner now and again.....nobody calls himself the "Whisperer" and expects you to have a kitty of R500 000.00 to cover all his "bonus" picks.

Then guys selling racing software.....some "poephol wrote a program that takes the Computaform and transfers it over to something that they understand and feck everyone else and before we explain it to you please part with R600 a month......

Then....the trusted "Computaform".....wow.....everyone says "study" the computaform....study what???....you can't go on speed because the slowest donkey from the Freestate will run away from everyone in reverse....you can't go on Jockey performance because if he is having a k@k day he won't even win a cold in winter....you can't go on trainers because they are just in it for the money and will put the k@kest jockey on the k@kest donkey and if he/she decides with the other that it will win....then it will

Okay so my question is.....I'm not dumb and I am not lazy so if people say "study" the form what in the flying feck are you suppose to "study"or "look" for on the Computaform???

Can anyone point me in the right direction without asking me to join or part with my punting money???????

It is True - Study , the more you study the better you will get . Maybe don't play for six month with money , just study , analyse results and see what you learn , When more confident then start slowly and have a few bets .

As Mr H. said yesterday - Don't listen to anyone , The answers are all in the Book . Comptuform is not the best and only publication , choose one that you feel comfortable with.

Each one for themselves That is the beauty of the Game

I personally like the Sporting Post - But that is my Choice others will have their own view . You can get it at any CNA - Their website www.sportingpost.co.za has many articles to assist punters and explains things like How Merit Rating work - Pedigrees etc

I use winning form and computa form(booklet) but I find winning form easy on the eyes when using Mobile .
www.winningform.co.za/
The best horse doesn't always win the race.

You can't trust anyone.
Stick to a budget.
You do not have to punt on every race / meeting.
Do not pay for tips. (Enough publications available: Computaform, Sportingpost, Winningform, Top Turf, Citizen)
Do not over study.
Be prepared to pay plenty of school fees.
Enjoy the moments when your "value" / outsider bet arrives.
Take your losses on the chin.
There will always be another meeting tomorrow..........Do not chase losses.
Enjoy the game!

First, you need to enjoy the game like going to the movies or or meeting your buddies at the pub. If you don’t then the game is not for you.

You can try follow a decent apprentice like Ashton Arries, try see what his best ride for a neeting is and put on a place bet.Or when theres a top jockey riding at a venue he does not usually ride at he is not usually there for the scenery, there for a reason!
