In this same thread, MJ has ALREADY been found GUILTY of fraud and the hysteria and excitement of the anti MJ brigade now causes them to attack SP too...
At times I do disagree with SP, just like I do with certain posts on ABC. That's just opinion. But to attack SP at this stage, is over the top.
Bob, sometimes less is more ? Maybe some posts should be edited ?
It is my opinion that MJ does not deserve this at this point.
Agree alot to swallow in 24 hours - Saw a quote yesterday Fools Multiply When wise men are silent.
I suppose I need to be wise right now , not the right time.

This was my point with the sporting Post not printing
In the past I have been asked to remove “articles” from all the reputable media sources reporting the news today ... They make mistakes or alleged guilty parties are not found guilty!
Nothing wrong with reporting the news and posting the articles, just safer not to add subjecture

I don't think this is a MJ attack frenzy,, I think it's a boil up of the Racing capture story,, people see and understand that certian individuals are using the game for max self benifit, stuff like corprate bulling, cliques, self interest incentives, fat salaries, huge bonuses for doing the scope of the job,, jobs for buddies,,and many other things and everyone is tired of it,, any one on this thread is a racing fan and a supporter of racing in one way or another,, working in the industry or owning horses does not make anyone more important than any racing fan and all the public want is fair play which does not happen in racings current structure,, a handfull of people are benefiting big time from racing,, instead of looking after racing Racing looks after them,, people are sucking the fat out of racing by abusing the current system

This is a letter penned by Markus Jooste to Steinhoff staff.
He has voluntarily termed what he did as BIG MISTAKES.
Time will tell if the BIG MISTAKES were intentiona
He has taken all the blame.
According to FORBES Kobus Wiese had lost $2.1 billion by 11h40 on Wednesday. This equated to 54.2% of his net worth.
Whichever way one looks at it, Markus Jooste has caused serious and possible irreversable harm to many many people which may run into billions and billions of dollars.
Did he see the writing on the wall when he changed ownership of all his horses from his personal name into the name of Mayfair. Although the downfall took place overnight, it must habe been known to be coming for some time to some especially to Markus Jooste.
Few have considered why he resigned as a director of Phumelela and why not many of the hundred others companies where he is a director. What, if anything, has happened in Phumelela that we have not been told about. Is it financial irregularities?
" Hi there,
Firstly I would like to apologise for all the bad publicity I caused the Steinhoff company the last couple of months.
Now I have caused the company further damage by not being able to finalise the year-end audited numbers and I made some big mistakes and have now caused financial loss to many innocent people.
It is time for me to move on and take the consequences of my behavior like a man.
Sorry that I have disappointed all of you and I never meant to cause any of you any harm.
Please continue to live the Steinhoff dream and I must make it very clear none of Danie [van der Merwe – COO], Ben [la Grange – CFO], Stehan [Grobler – executive Group Treasury and Financing] and Mariza [Nel] – Corporate Services, IT & HR] had anything to do with any of my mistakes.
I enjoyed working with you and wish you all the best for the future.
Best regards
Markus."
The best way to interpret the apology is:
I have screwed up. I have made serious money out of the company. I know I have caused big harm to you. I left the mess for you to live with and clean up if you can. I am out of here to try and enjoy my gains obtained by my big mistakes. I enjoyed the ride. The bus has stopped for me to get off. You stay on and endure it all.

Here is what i know and unless you or others know more about the hack than me what I understand is that back up of database data was not our main problem as the actual workings of the site was damaged,, missing data is now just a matter of been populated, , this site was built in 2004 when things in IT were different and not as advanced as today, Wolfgang had made a note before he left of "To do things " and had he stayed on he would have modernised the site so that if we went down we could get back up in 10 min which we will now be doing,, by the way I hear one of the main people behind Disgrace book is closely associated with Jooste and does Formgrids down time give anyone the right to copy Formgrids ?

Dave it has to be an editorial decision. Not once has the van Vuuren fraud graced their pages, its as if this never occurred.
As for the "other" site, well thats hardly surprising, it is funded by Klawevlei and the RA which have clear and obvious links to Jooste. Never bite the hand that feeds comes to mind.

If a story about the demise of very average stallion Lateral(RIP) or an appeal for a fine by jockey Gould is regarded as big news then surely a story on the resignation of a director of Phum coupled with the fact that he is probably the biggest owner in SA and now is making headline news everywhere surely deserves some coverage? Maybe a quote from Riaan as to WHY this person resigned? And that goes for ALL RACING PUBLICATIONS - The Editors should hang their heads in shame - Mainstream newspapers also derive huge advertising from Steinhoff companies and yet they are publishing - Where are the journalistic ethics to report on news? This story WILL not go away and will just get bigger so why pretend nothing happened?
