are you gai making.....most know that poor Joe is going to battle to replace the dozen or more I am told.....Jooste horses.....Joe was in a fairly unique position in that he had what I term a "pick and pay" arrangement.....in that he was able to pick the horses he thought would be competitive.....and the Jooste outfit would pay for them..... :dry:
I am sincere - I interviewed Joe when he got a mad weaver from Azzie and got the horse to win a good few when he started out and my respect for his ability started there(before he had Special Preview maybe 25 years ago or more) -
That he actually picked them just reinforces my judgment of him - (the first horse I ever owned was actually bought by Joe and the deal fell through and we ened up owning him - won first time out and was a 2 time winner from 7 starts ) - he did not have those telephone number horses in his yard like some of the bigger trainers that MJ used - And he is a damned good form studier which is more than many other trainers who don't understand that you have to study form to place your horse
