Easy
I get where u coming from. I agree with you. However, i sincerely doubt that Dorrie is being understood in context. There are a lot of Racing people who are directly involved in racing who will not post on ABC simply because some unknown person will just attack their point of view with false statements.
One poster with whom I sometimes disagree is Pirates. Yet we remain on friendly terms, as we have for years. We agree to disagree. And so too you and me. And we are all racing people. The bottom line is that we know each other, in spite of the pseudonyms.
By using our own names we will bring further credibility to the site. I say "further" simply because the majority on this site are very well informed and are credible. It's a small minority that mess it up.

Proper? To many people in racing think that the people with money/ many horses or hold a high position are proper but this doesnt make them more speacial then others. The ones at the top tend to have skeletons and how often we see the fall.
I think if one changes the forum to go under ones name then i suggest that everyone has to re register, with copy of id.Secondly if this is the case where posters go under their names then anyone who reads the posts must be logged in to be able to read, which is quite important.
Over the years i have met many posters from this site and even have a number of them on wattsap,i know who they are and they know me,but have found that there are quite a few closet gamblers which wouldnt be able to post and a few sometimes hear about horses and would make it difficult to post selections in this way.For certain people in financial jobs their concerns have been if you google their name and it is lists of horse racing topics.Trainers have always used their names as its for public relations but i strongly suggest that all readers are registered and logged in to be able to read.

It's not often that Easy and I agree, but his posts on this thread are spot on.
The people calling for the identity of posters that post things against what they perceive as the "real" racing people, are in the main those that benefit from the "real" racing people. These people have sat back and done nothing while our sport has suffered scandal after scandal, hitting new depths after every expose. These apologists do not want change regardless of what the truth is, and that truth is that an elitist crowd have captured racing to their advantage at the expense of others. The elephant in the room is not acknowledged despite overwhelming evidence and this is to the detriment of "real" racing people who want the sport to survive and thrive, without the self enrichment associated with many of these so named "real" racing people. Mentions are made of SP and I note with interest that posters using their own names still fire away and post things that would be in the mould of what is posted here, often worse. No. Let's get one thing straight, the reason people want names behind pseudonyms is so actions can be taken against them.
Wake up and smell the roses. The elephant is on its knees. Let real racing people stand up and be counted and get rid of him and all his appointed cronies.

Horse racing in SA has to take a good and long look in the mirror and ask are they happy with the product that they are putting in the market .
The same question has been asked for years and years , Why do new and young not get involved in horse racing ?
By the way "My kids have been wined and dined while at Varsity going to Met's and July's and still not interested in racing ."
Surely horse racing needs to take note of what people are saying , If it is true ,embrace and deal with it .
If it is b#lldust ignore .rather than worry about who said what or whether it somebody is using a pseudonym or not ?
Cheers , Fred Williams .

Louis
The REAL reason those people WONT post on ABC is not because of some of us being anonymous. Bob knows most people's id and FOR sure if it went to court the investigators would find out who it was.
The REAL reason why "proper racing" people don't post on here is because THEY (the ones that don't post) think they are fucking SPECIAL they think they are above question and certainly above scrutiny. The real reason is because they firmly believe that we (the barbarians) must just
1: own 1 or 2
2: punt
3: and attend sometimes
because the sport is NOT ours, its theirs and belongs to the
1: people that own 10-250
2: never punt
3: organise the event and therefore always attend
That is the issue here NOT pseudonyms its a mentality of US v THEM. Its an attitude of ENTITLEMENT. Its a corporate structure but run like a club with hierarchy and leaders.
I cannot tell you how pissed off i am about the "proper" racing people comment. Context or not it was mentioned. It shows me that some people in racing still believe its THEIR sport.
South Africa's greatest trainer Mike De Kock did not come from a racing family. He was lured into our beloved sport and look now an ambassador for our Sport. Me Easy i am not from a racing family. I was not born into this sport, i came to find it and love it. That is the golden ingredient. That is the potion they have to find to bring people into the game.
Now some of those that are born into it think they are proper because of that?
You my mate were born into racing BUT you treat it with respect. You are a NETT contributor to the sport. You love it and i know that you don't consider me improper.

AND i can prove its not about pseudonyms 1000% proof.
After a horse wins we have interviews. At that moment we know who is
1: interviewing
2: being interviewed
we even have them on camera (sorry but sometimes have to state the obvious)
Yet if anything "controversial " is said the interview is NOT AIRED.
Why not? I mean we know who the person is? The person has actually made the comment (even though its not aired) Why is there no case of Libel? Or bringing the game into disrepute? they have the evidence?
They treat (try) to treat us like mushrooms. Fuck them all.

Guys the point of my post was not to censor folk! It was to add responsibility to what was being posted!
Forums world wide have always been anonymous, even the sporting Post use “ real fake names “
All I’m saying if I get someone “demanding” details of an anonymous member ( usually through legal threats ) my only option is to delete posts or ask folk to edit etc

.....the "right" people in racing should have figured out who I am.....not only is my handle a pseudonym.....it has become a "brand".....if my real name could aid to change the game I'd use it
....but sadly the game may never change....because the people that were empowered by the regime are here to stay....

My real name is Bob Brogan so I have no choice but to use my pseudonym.
i try post with respect and rather play the ball and not the player.
However a few administrators/directors in RACING make that quite challenging.
i will however say some of the new blood at Big P / Tellytrack are making some real progress.
Out with some of the old and in with some new ideas will be great for RACING SA
