I would like to see that agreement - as to me the value of a horse can only depend on a market .
So either you have an Auction where a Market will be determind or you publically list horses for sale with reserve prices , then offers can be made.
Who set the price of R 3.2 million for a gelding at the age of 7 .
Not to say he cant make it back in the future , but were there any other offers.
I have not see the list but from what I've heard The Manager wants prices as close to what they were sold for on auction for the unraced horses - in reality, do we think anyone would have paid around 8 million for Edict in SA on Auction? If that price is correct then I think he is getting good prices - I know some guys who offered on a horse and were rejected as there was a way bigger offer from Mauritius -

Did hear in the after race interview that the Australian partner mentioned he is a "junior partner in this horse". Did BvH get these two others to buy a paltry stake in LE as a smoke screen?

Had a trainer tell me that Brugman is hard work, agrees prices then changes goal posts
Imo this should be a fire sale , and trainers should start playing low ball

Initially, I agreed with you, possibly because I hated the way prices were pushed up on auction to make stallions and sales companies look better than what they were, but considering that the banks(and their sharholders - many who are pension funds) are innocent in this they should not be prejudiced and the best possible prices should be realized which I do not think would happen if they were placed on auction..

I have seen at least 5 to 10 horses run already example today Lebo;s Legend - See Joe kept a share .
So they bought him for R400k at Cape Book 1 - Still a colt - So did the new owners buy him for R400k or more after winning Maiden by 8 over 1200 m . I say at least double , then I ask with all the trouble Joe is going to go through by loosing at least 5 raced horses and who knows how many unraced babies , even at 10 % would you as him be putting your money down.

More than one owner bid for LE. One told me yesterday at Kenilworth that his was an underbid - and was quite bummed. I guess Mayfair phoned a few owners - those known to splash cash. Was definitely not a case of BvH getting first and only dips.
