Rightly so. Also the know-it-alls should read the part about the investigation into the sales that have already occurred. If you believe that van Huysteen paid Jooste anything then greet St. Nick on his travels tonight.

Sorry I am confused , congratulations for being part of a fraudulent system.

In her affidavit, Van Niekerk said it appeared that Jooste was party to a "fraudulent scheme" aimed at scattering assets "in order to put them beyond the reach of the applicant [Absa], Sanlam and Investec [other creditors linked to Mayfair Speculators]".

Birds of a feather .....

After owning more than 400 horses himself Braam has to go Buy a "Group 1" because he can and has the money . That is not success , that is riding on coat tales. When he goes and buys a "Legal Eagle " at a sale I will congratulate him. Why did Chris Van Niekerk not just buy out the share , R3 Million , he could have just taken over the whole of Legal Eagle , he obviously did not want to get involved with this illegal trade. Well done to him,

Well done to Legal Eagle Sean and the team for the win. Those are the victors , not someone with a big cheque book trying to buy his first group 1 , and being part of a corrupt system that Brugman has come up with.

What's next - we sell our “Mothers” for a Group One ?.

After Jooste f%*ked van Huysteen by buying his business with Steinhoff shares that he had fraudulently manipulated to higher value, there is no way that 3.2 was paid for this horse in cash. I believe this was a sorry boet have a grade 1 winner move and the story should not end here. I have said it before and I will say it again - there will be investigations into the money trail of all assets dispersed of.

So.
The sale should not have been done?
Some objected to the horse running for Mayfair because it could have earned prize money.
You would have been happy with the horse siting in a stable with bills unpaid putting hardship on all the reliant parties, and even the horses welfare?
I'm not sure what you think the right thing to have done would be? Even the banks would be happier chasing a transaction value rather than a rapidly depreciating, money eating asset .

And I'm not having a go at anyone. I just would like to see all the Mayfair horses that are inevitably going to change hands, go as quickly as possible into the hands of bill paying , welfare conscious owners. Nor will I begrudge anyone who is lucky enough to " buy success " by their purchase.
After all, every purchase of a racehorse is an attempt to buy said success in reality.
