Puffin

While in Durbs, did you get a vibe from the GC board that CT is viewed as a burden?

Would be nice to verify that quote somehow.

Puffin says 'Don't program forJuly"
What happens if it then rains thru into August.
8 weeks no racing and many horses will vanish to PE or out of the province completely.

Jack Dash,no we arent. We are actually on a good wicket with our stakes compared to turnover done in cape racing.Cant comment more than that......for obvious reasons.

GERI...I agree...one just needs to take your chances and stick with the schedule...Cape weather is pretty fickle during the whole of winter.
Personally...I love a bit of the trainsmash meetings.
It's fun trying to get through a P.A. ... the Pick 6 and Jackpot is anothermatter of course. :-)

Then when a meeting is cancelled in July because of waterlogged tracks no-one must complain.Just wait for the meeting to be rescheduled to another date and hope for the best. For years we have had a mild winter, this year it seems like back to the good old cape winter.....remember we all want to race with lots of mouths to feed but cant control the weather.

Magazine showed Ruperts put in an allweather track.
Is the cost for a full size really 40 mil? Just curious.

So we have been told....saw it in Singapore...amazing to even walk on.Rained the day before the big race and water ran off it like water off a ducks back.....if at all possible to do it here will push to make it happen!
Cant postpone as other days all taken up in the programme...its a bit more complicated than just wanting to move it to another day..i assure you we all want to race down here.

only way is to get the big players in the game to contribute..becks jooste van niekerks oppenheimer slacks etc..do things properly the first time and in the long run the 40 bar will be cheap..unlike the vaal and kimberly sand tracks which are pathetic
