I agree, personally i enjoyed the call

worse race caller i have ever heard, give me dumpy any day of the week. Even the worse UK caller, Dereck Thompson, is streets ahead of him.

Unfortunately, mediocrity is the norm in SA.Customers are so easily satisfied with sub-par standards, and the clowns running the show in racing are entrenched for life,so nobody wants to rock the boat.

Sheldon is good for the game.Does a lot of interviews for Tellytrack and his knowledge and info is good for the game. I personally backed hard to play so enjoyed his commentary.

The Peters boys are top class, miles ahead of the rest of the country. You could fall off to sleep listening to Brandon Bailey commentate

I will say one thing that at least SA callers make a call as opposed to the UK guys are very conservative with photo finishes, and that female in the background "we will wait for the judge" and we are looking at a still of the winning line where the winning distance could be as much as half a lenght

I totally agree with urbanite and huch ..They employed to call a race not tell the world after the race why every winner was a certainty and best bet of the decade ..Nobody is having a go at them personally just do the job professionally like before tellytrack was around ....the likes of jehan malherbe ernie and peter duffield and graeme hawkins were completely neutral ...wHEN punters have done their money or an owner or trainer has seen their horse getting beaten the last thing they want to hear is how this horse was the best bet of the fcuking decade ...jehan malherbe what he has forgotten about all aspects of racing the rest combined will never learn but he calls the race and then summarises it in slow motion..DO U ever hear him sai i picked that horse for mdk or i made that a bok ...

mediocrity appears to be the accepted thing in SA racing circles. Oh well if thats what tickles you then thats fine.
