Commemtators should be neutral

As a punter, when I watch and follow a race, I like to hear an even, balanced commentary from the commentator. I certainly don't want to know who the commentator has his money on ( nor who the commentator's favourite owner or jockey is). While I don't always punt KZN, preferring Vaal, Turfontein and Cape Town, when I do, there is nothing more irritating and unprofessional than hearing the shrieking, almost hysterical Sheldon Peters screaming for his punt or favourite. Yesterday's calling of the Cup Trial and his obsession on the favourite, African Night Sky, was nauseating to say the least. The people I was punting with all agreed that this is unacceptable despite the fact we had all bankered African Night Sky, I would think that there are many punters and owners who have their interest elsewhere and don't need to know where the commentator has his money on. We observed that he didn't commentate the next race but was back for the one thereafter, where we noticed that he was deathly calm and somber. We looked at each and said, "someone's had a word with this fella". Sheldon then made a statement about having "a personal interest" in the previous race he called (and having had a look at the card, it wasn't as an owner). I remember Nick Kritsiotis in days gone by always screaming the Jooste colours and found that nauseating as well, but thankfully we don't have to hear that hysteria anymore.
Surely, someone should have a word with this lad and let him know that this is unacceptable ?

As @cnc mentioned, some of the phrases used by SP seems silly and down-right amateurish...in any case, I try not to listen to the commentary as the final result is the only thing that matters...

Although it can seem "iritating" remember he has a racecourse crowd to entertain also.

Come now Bob, I know that he is a friend on Facebook, but the only entertainment the crowd want is going to collect.

I've said this all before, especially pertaining to Sheldon Peters. However, clearly nothing ever gets done and personally it's actually more nauseating to keep flogging this dead horse as none of the management in racing give a toss about the customer.

I suppose you can't please everyone, personally I found mr Moosa more irritating than 'young mr Peters', but I think what should be called for is a 'balanced impartial view' - I'm not usually listening to the UK commentators, but I have found them much more 'professional' in general - something our local guys can strive for ....

I think the only reason he does this is because a lot of people would have watched this horse to see if he indeed is favorite for Durban July. Nothing wrong for me.
