On the downside I hear a rumour that the moving of the parade ring to in front of the grandstand is in doubt as it will cost to much. Pity if this is fact.

Could i ask did anyone do an impact study on the effect this will have on the Nigerian Drug trade. Or were they excluded from the process.

They are funding the lights, for more night time trade... sniff.

Well done RA, when will we know who has got the contract?

The parade ring is not the greatest expense, but moving all the other facilities, raceday boxes, jockeys, stipes rooms etc...

They however could still move the ring and let the horses walk through for now.

ts i am paid to do racing selections for the ra site(part time - i have a business of my own) - i'm also on the marketing commitee - unpaid (any ideas or plans i come up with are not for personal gain and i spend a fair deal of my time trying to find ways to attract people to the races without any financial reward)- do you for one moment think that the RA does not put pressure on Phumelela in the interests of the owner? I am an RA member because i have shares in a few horses hence the "our" - it seems nothing will ever be good enough for you and if you see me as your new "whipping boy" think again cause i'm getting on with promoting racing as i had nothing to do with the past but i can be part of the future and i have no time for negative people

assume what you will i am not a spokesman for the ra you have the details contact them yourself - you have a way of alienating people ts even those that may have similar motives as you have - i'm about racing (ask anyone that knows me from the track - i hate politics and only want this game to survive and if i CAN DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE FOR THE GAME I DO IT perhaps you should try that instead of finding fault at every turn)

Ts i have some news for you - as you well know Phumelela was in the process of canning night racing - The Ra then sent Phumelela a letter stating its concerns about this and this pressure resulted in solutions being found to the problems and now all parties have Night Racing to look foward to thanks to the RA negotiating on behalf of all owners
