Re: VAAL Tuesday 8 January

First thing to note about today is that according Sahorseracing, 91% of rain is expected; second thing that caught my attention, is that the Tarry stable (for some reason) had a pretty dismal day on Sunday at the Big T - many runners not running up to scratch
3rd thing is that there has been plenty of rain rain around, so some horses not able to work as much as planned - all in all could be a bit of nightmare meeting
Thoughts on the form:
R2: Should not be much between Winter Watch and Memphis Belle; Kissable a big danger at best, but needs fast going imo
R3: Lady Lexington - the form of her first run seems strong, and the supported first timer Bold Ellie would have to be quite good to beat her imo
R4: San Fermin tries blinkers, and has been showing steady improvement since a break - looks well treated at the weights and has to rate the one to beat; stable mate Whitehaven has always looked capable and tries blinkers as well, so should prove competitive along with Nautic Spirit and Against the Grain (probably prefers a bit further)
R5: Place Chapel imo ticks a lot of boxes - has won his last two starts convincingly - he has not run in the wet, bu if it stays dry I make him hard to beat; main danger is the Tarry inmate Carbon Atom; the others imo much of a muchness but will have to pick up their feet - Dan the Lad in the form of his life, but the 1200 not his ideal trip imo
R6: Competitive; Tammany Hall found 2000m too far last week, but should feature over the shorter trip; Pale Lilac and Seville Orange the obvious two coming of wins in their last starts and Dame Kelly has been threatening for a while now and can't be ignored with the Tarry inmate Fortuna Doro; Shelly seems better around the turn
R7: Silver Thursday has really been disappointing - but tries blinkers today and on her class (what price Takingthepeace against one and two time winners) can't be ignored; if she fluffs her lines again, Flying Fable the main danger imo; next best for me Crimson Royale; favorite Blossom did not beat the strongest lot in her maiden, and needs more improvement imo
R8: Tough handicaps with big fields to close the JP and P6, and many runners have claims - I think Samarra looks good value at the odds - better this 1400 and well in with the allowance (1.5 kgs only)
R9: Realy tough; Master Boulder is running consistently and now gets a 4kg allowance - but have to wonder why Dev Habib (getting good rides for this stable) is on the stable mate
I'm including 8 horses in the PA
Enjoy

My fancies:
R3: LADY LEXINGTON (was well supported on debut)
R4: SAN FERMIN (I know the stable has rated this one)
R7: SILVER THURSDAY (the one to beat on prior form)
