Here follows trainer comments ahead of Thursday’s race meeting at the Vaal.

OCTOBER 10, 2019
Race 1:

Mike Azzie:

No 7 Secret Palace is limited but is trying and could be in the money.

Ashley Fortune:

No 10 Arabella Queen is a nice filly. Will need the run but could place.

Barend Botes:

No 11 Calvina will be a bit green.

Stephen Moffatt:

No 12 Fire Frost is a nice filly, will be green and is looking for a bit further.

Race 2:

Mike de Kock:

No 3 Local Knowledge should need this run.

No 7 Bassam has an Eachway chance.

Corne Spies:

No 8 Equalizer needs much further.

No 13 Royal Supremacy may still be green, but I am expecting him to be in the money.

Mike Azzie:

No 12 Rock The Kazvar will be a nice horse later on but may be green this time.

Race 3:

Sean Tarry:

No 2 In The Dance may need the run.

Lucky Houdalakis:

No 4 Witch Of The West: I am changing things a bit with her.

Race 4:

Lucky Houdalakis:

No 3 Seville Orange was disappointing last time out and I am looking for a better run from her.

Robbie Sage:

No 6 Dromedaris is always in with a chance.

Race 5:

Gary Alexander:

No 2 Master And Man has a place shout.

Robbie Sage:

No 5 Flame Fella is drawn badly but I am hoping for a good run.

Barend Botes:

No 11 Woodland’s Forest ran a good race last time out so must have a chance if he reproduces that effort.

Race 6:

Robbie Sage:

No 2 Greenwood Drive: If he settles he should run a good race.

Gary Alexander:

No 3 Top Shot has a place chance.

Mike Azzie:

No 4 Major Return ran a nice race on his return and I think he is the one to beat.

Race 7:

Barend Botes:

No 1 Shabba Ranks was not beaten in a stronger race last time out. This 2000m is still a bit short for him but he must have a place chance.

Gary Alexander:

No 4 Nimcha has an Eachway chance.

Race 8:

Barend Botes:

No 1 Get Set might still need this run.

Mike Azzie:

No 7 Flower Season was second to a highly rated filly last time out so must have a big chance in this line-up.

Alec Laird:

No 8 Marygold is a nice filly – could place.

Dorrie Sham:

No 11 Miss Guided is working well but will need further.

According to mathematics, we could see a 20/1 shot win the last :) could this one be the one that "catches your eye" ? ;) ;) ;) ;)
