The Annual General Meeting of Members of the Racing Association has been delayed and will take place on Monday 10 February 2020 at 18h00.

The meeting will be held at Kenilworth Racecourse via a video link with Turffontein Racecourse.

The reasons for the delay in the meeting are outlined in a letter signed by Larry Wainstein, and are as follows:

Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Limited have delayed their annual general meeting and ideally, the Racing Association meeting will take place after their meeting;
The official notice and audited financial statements will be circulated early this week.
The Board of the Racing Association will be reviewing a new strategy relating to the structure of the Racing Association going forward and this proposal will be presented to members at the annual general meeting.
Management has obtained opinion from the Company Secretaries of the Racing Association and the matter of obtaining condonation to delay the AGM is in hand and will be covered by Special Resolution.
Due to the delay in the convening of the annual general meeting, it has been agreed to announce the results of the RA election:

National Board: Michael Leaf, Brian Riley, Laurence Wernars

Western Cape Chapter: Philip Sarembock, Kevin Sommerville

The statement says that it is hoped that all members of the Racing Association will understand that the delay has been caused by unforeseen circumstances and they have requested their support in this matter.

If ever you needed confirmation that the RA are Phumelelas bitches this is it. A delayed AGM because Phumelela have their troubles? My simple question is WHY THE DELAY if they are independant of Phumelela?

A confirmed bunch of hot aired pussies the lot of them.

Again I'm really amazed that the members accept this state of affairs. Surely someone has to do something or are they all on the same train. After the sound bytes and other issues the train just keeps chugging along. At what point does it derail and who is going to stand up and remove the current incumbent from his post? This just seems like madness imo.

......surely you jest ....as if you know the history of how the RA came into this state of affairs
......LW was part of the original "Concerned Owners" to stop Jooste and co from dominating both PHUM and the RA.....there are no more "Concerned Owners" in the RA after LW became CEO.....the MORE Concerned owners now not being members of the RA are not on the train and have no say....also no RA member dares to speak @p in case(as per the sound clips) they are told to sh@t the f@ck @p or go to Gold Circle if they don't like the way things are being r@n.....:blink:

So I wonder if all the owners who are RA members think like and agree with BK that us other owners and punters are in fact thieves and are stealing their money? As opposed to being grateful that in fact by us all punting they actually have stakes to race for. The rather boring question again is what does LW and the RA actually do for its members that benefits them as opposed to those who are owners but not RA members. Does anyone know how many owners are members of the RA . Are there more owners that are not members or the other way around?

.....I think the question should be asked about how many owners have left the game because of the divide brought about by "racing" politics.... a wedge that was driven between remaining RA owners and (others) those that saw fit to remain in the game.....IMVHO droves of the middle market tossed in the towel not only because of the financial constraints of horse ownership.....but for the so called politics first brought up by the original concerned owners ....
nothing p!sses on passion more than some b!g shot telling you that you can take it or leave.....many just simply left
......:oops:
