Lets see what the BRICS summit brings. I see they want to create a currency that is GOLD backed. I must admit, this is probably the most sensible action I have ever seen a politician make in my life time.

Njala 132kV Outage

The City is aware of a 132kV tripped this morning, due to Theft and Vandalism at Njala Substation. The following Substations are affected:
Watloo 1
Mamelodi 1,2,3
Wapadrand
Mooikloof
Koedoespoort and
Hearthely
WAPADRAND

The technical teams are onsite to assess the extend of the damage, ETR is not yet known at this moment. We apologize for inconvenience caused.

Agreed, there is no war now or in the future so they can be made to guard key infrastructure instead of driving around harresing motorists.

*Update* regarding this Njala Sub outage is that the extend of the damage is huge due to this theft n vandalism.

There’s no option to back feed the affected consumers due to network limitations and overall safety of the network.

The line is temporary (Njala-Watloo line 1), where theres challenges with load and protection.

The replacement of multicore cables and rewiring of those arched/burned CT's will take long to repair.

Therefore , All support is needed to ensure the restoration of this outage is speeded up.

The transmission team will advise on ETR as the team still busy with drafting the scope of work, needs for spares and equipments.
