Like the double :-
Black Belt X Our Prized Jewel
Black Belt X Our Prized Jewel
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Yip - let's see - backed it each-way yesterday at 13/1 - realistically a place probably the better option ....
Had a look at the card, and few jumped out - thoughts:
R1: Emblem of Hope the obvious one on form - the rest obviously a concern, but should pack too much class for these - especially as none of the debutantes are seemingly fancied - however as we all know, a horse does not know if anyone backed it .....
R2: Sonic Burst on times should finish in front of the hot-pot favorite Sovereign Rose - yet trading at 7/1 - had me a nice each-way bet at those odds - Snaith first timer the only other one in the market in what seems a 3-cornered contest
R3: Not that sold on Hoedspruit, but by process of elimination does seem the right one - good form, but needs to show that it gets the trip from a wide draw, so can of course win easing up, but for me no value at that price. Confused a bit by the rider arrangements on the Crawford runners - Orffer must have had the choice, but the stable mate has the better form - could be a bit of an upset here ....

R4: Black Belt should prove tough to beat - pace could be an issue though in this small field - I'm taking no chances and will include all 6 runners in the P6
R5: Our Prized Jewel probably a popular banker in the P6 - however tries 1600, so I am definitely including Jolly Josephine, who has the rest of the field stone cold at the weights
R6: I do think that young Mr Solomons is in for a good day and his mount Rock Trip is my first choice - at the weights seems hard to beat - only draw-back is the poor form of the stable in Cape Town - they did have a winner on Sunday though and may be getting over the slump; if Rock Trip disappoints I think it is wide open and a runner like Miss d'Array looks good value at 14s
R7: Open contest if one looks past the favorite; there is form though to suggest that big-priced runners like Fleeced, Mon Cherie and Vandah's Spirit (that Bass-Robinson stable again), could have a say
R8: Another chance for apprentice Solomons, as Four's a Crowd looks really well in at the weights and should prove hard to beat; not a lot between On Captain's Side and Windsor Beat, but both seem held by Four's a Crowd
Enjoy

What a Flight would have finished closer on debut if not suffering interference. Place.
