How are the pools these days?

I heard them saying they were struggling to reach the pick 6 at one point, but sure they nearly got there.

Good morning all I thought I would just share my near yet so far quarter miss in big race as the results where starting to fly out the roof i realised possibility the gold cup might have a major upset so I boxed a quartet 5 min before race.
I don't know how many times I have back Flichity by farr over the last few months and there I go n leave it out of the quartet because of bad form n thinking not up to this distance and there it comes running third had 10 per cent of the quartet which would have been really good money for me being a small time punter.
Sometimes it pays to stick with a horse even if the form is krap but that's how the cookie crumbles

Congrats to all winners Kzn season really did end in a bang t

Got a hiding on the green .... but was welcomed by a swollen betting account balance thanks to the bipot !!

Thanks Charl for doing the scoring .... {waves titanium baseball bat in the direction of PeterD ....thinks 'is that comment about scoring an oblique criticism of MY scoring?'}...{caresses bat...deep breaths..sighs}

I will check the top six scores ... but as yet I have no PM's wanting to dispute any scores.

Teedeem, you had TWO double selections in both your entries. In future if 2 doubles are selected... the double option for that entry will be forfeited...that will save contention

As usual, I will check my bank account for payments and confirm the final pool.

As usual, some fantastic tipping... well done to the top three

eushhhhh.... R70k would have been great

The results - except for the Gold Cup (where imo one has to blame the majority of jocks for poor judgement of pace) - were not that outrageous - Golden Ducat the big improver - and I think it is not unexpected that horses go slightly over the top - the Champions Stakes a great race and well done to Eric Sands - having trained one or two for me in days gone by - I can say that from my dealings with him, he is one of the good guys.

Regarding the compo - thanks to everyone and especially Magi for organizing and Charl for scoring (not always a straight-forward job); condolences to Naresh, who surely would have won on any other day, after selecting the last 3 winners on the card - and also to PeterD, who I am sure that after the Gold Cup would have been counting his chickens - only to find that someone had actually doubled this roughie; that being said no one can begrudge the winner, as he also managed to select the last race winner.

Enjoyable day, except that I missed all the exotics :(

To wrap things up, Golden Ducat won the race of the century. On par with a Frankel or Zenyatta for our country this century.

Thank you guys and Jackson for noticing. Picking your selections you have to mix up your outsiders with horses with definite chances.

Van Halen, last year in the Mercury Sprint, was very unlucky. It went for a run down the inside rail, but the eventual winner Kasimir took him out and would have got very close to winning.

Running Brave, won the Bracelet last year so was bidding for a double. A known front runner, I knew it will be right up there with the pace or control it herself. Shes a very gutsy mare and deserves to win a Grade 1.

According to time experts and analysts in the July, Golden Ducat and Rainbow Bridge did well to stay on where they finished after the detrimental pace of Silvano's Pride. But was Golden Ducat good enough to give 6/7kgs to Rainbow Bridge and Do It Again after the July run. The race proved Golden Ducat was in that class. The broodmare, Halfway To Heaven, is a blue hen for sure.

I did catch the Pick 3 but not the times I wanted as I went more for the Trifecta in the sprint race as the pool had a carryover in it (reached over 600k), and the minimum payout was R300.
