Can someone please explain to me how a horse that started at 100 to 1 and finished some 16 lengths back first time, can be priced up as a favourite to win race 1? Do they know something that we don`t know????

How is the weather out at the Vaal ?
Fair question re race one ? Probably a race just to watch.
On the other hand Pack Leader at 5/2 looks a fair price.
Good Punting

5 winning runs from form line
Tarry
Gwinghwiza
workriders race
just about every horse was big price and ran poorly before
I still won't back it at that price in a workriders race but easy to see why the short price.
Horses usually improve after 1 run.

Well summoned up Shadley.
Post race on Saturday Lyle was full of praise for Paisley Park and seems to rate this horse highly, secondly this runner today goes further over a mile which he might be looking for and this second run will most definitely bring him on.
Have seen this happen before and after the Guineas meeting from this past Saturday nothing will surprise me anymore.

Not a great card - could be rain around - thoughts ....
R1: Most of these have no real claims to place on their recent form; best of a real moderate bunch could Nyakasanga, but the 1600 may pose a problem; so a pin or a few darts have as much chance of surviving the BP as trying to analyze the form
R2: Legal Star - imo last time did not get the best ride from pole position, must have a good chance in this field if reproducing the run which saw her running 6 lengths behind War of Athena; KeepingthePeace (who ran close of enough to Anything Goes) is the main danger; Incognito should prefer 1600 and is probably 3rd best
R3: I think Lady of Steel is the right one; Pack Leader the main danger; Vaseem has them stone cold on ratings, but is racing in steels, which may indicate that he will need the run; ExpressfromtheUS imo will be hard pressed to give these weight and a beating
R4: Moderate bunch of fillies; She's a Cracker tries 2000 and has as good a chance as any if she stays; Immaculate and Rizzoli may improve more with blinkers, while Wishonaire and Chenopod look like the only others to consider
R5: Very open F&M handicap; Plum Field overdue, and if it stays dry, will surely be right there again; Pin Up the other one in good form and has a better draw, so definite chance as well; others like Kayla's Dream, Rabia the Rebel, Mazari, Pucker Up and Piccadilly Square not to be ignored, while Magogo tries blinkers and gets the apprentice allowance in addition to a drop in MR, so could surprise
R6: Classified Stakes, where the females get a sex allowance which gives them an advantage imo; as such Tartan Dancer (especially if it turns up soft) and Heart of a Legend should be right there; Fantasy Flower tries 1600 and is also well in and the jockey booking (deserting Samurai Jack) could prove significant
R7: Desert Pride does look progressive and should go close again; if she fluffs her lines there are many (Afternoon Tea, Flaming Duchess, Decadent Lady, Kapama, Twice the Act, Little Rain and Mamaquera) to be considered
R8: Another Classified Stakes, so the females like May Queen, Feather the Nest and Hear the Trumpet are narrowly best in - but over 1200 may not prove that significant; Crown Guardian goes for a hat-trick and clearly can't be ignored, despite being 2 kgs out with May Queen
Enjoy
