Princess Calla an interesting entry - came from far back in the Paddock Stakes and on that run at the weights imo could challenge the older horses - especially if Queen Supreme goes for the Majorca

Frodo - well done with Queen, i was thinking the same about the 3yr Bass filly that ran on into the places but i dont think its their style to run young horses in the Met.

What nobody has been able to explain to me is how Summer Pudding went from a 119 to a 129 for winning the Summer Cup. She beat RB who was a 114 since forever and then suddenly got upped to a 119.

Thanks - I was actually also looking to see if the Bass filly was amongst the entries - but as you say, they may be reluctant to push her - I do think Princess Calla may struggle to get the 2000 - but seeing as she probably has to take on Captain's Ransom (already had a few rand on her at 4/1 when the bookies were still sleeping) and perhaps also Queen Supreme in the Majorca, it could be worth it to take a chance in the Met

Ito Summer Pudding's rating, for me the runners in the Summer Cup were all rated at least 5 points too high - but she could still be competitive in the Met as the females get the 2.5 kg allowance - bigger problem for her might be that she could be missing some crucial work in the lead up - given that she did apparently suffer from some issue in the Paddock Stakes

Yip Sly, that was what I was referring to - if that issues causes any delay in her getting back into work, we may even not see her partake in the Met - all depends on how bad it is

Why do we try muddy the waters?

If anything,
Summer Pudding will take her position and then be scratched to prevent ante-post losses.

Princess Calla has gone from running a distant second to Captains Ransom to being able to beat Belgarion within a space of a few weeks.

Queen Supreme has never won a feature race vs colts over any distance.
But the horse that she beat by a fair distance has the ability to do so?

Damn...

Belgarion to win by 5 lengths.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

You will not get a refund if you take an ante-post bet with a horse and then it get scratched after the final field is announced.

I know based on the weights that African Night Sky has something to find in the Met but he was very unlucky over the weekend, and could be very well handicapped for the July as a 7yr old.

Purely on the queens plate race the top 4 will be again at top of the boards come Met day but I will throw 3 horses into the mix provided they get a run

Azores
Sachdev
King of gems (I'm definitely not drunk )maybe a lunatic selection but stranger things have happened and Crawford deserves a met win again
