My take is why do punters take jackpots,p/a and pick 6 or any exotic bet is to catch the big payouts so if you knew and could ask those winners how is greyville racing :) you would get a different answer to the punter playing true or false favourites ...

Len 0% of the pick 6 won, nobody really to ask.
I would rather take a small perm a few times and double or treble my money rather than taking the whole field.
Only big punters take field by field.
95% are small punters so they all losing and only a few with big bucks to blow win the odd big pick 6.

Yes I agree with you the last decision is ours.
But punting should be a game of skill and a little luck.
All we ask for is the trainer to bring the horse fit to the course, the jockey to ride the horse in a proper manner and then we can't have any complaints.
How many fancied horses where dead and buried even before they came into the straight yesterday?
How many horses missed the break?
Does a jockey really think sitting three wide the whole way is giving the horse the best opportunity to win?
Those things are out of the hands of the punter.
Full carryover in the pick 6 yesterday surely tells us the form didn't work out,and form is the most important tool horse racing punters have to go on that's why we buy the race card isn't it.

Durbs, do agree with you that it is frustrating. My complaints are the same as yours mentioned.
But I do not agree with blaming the commentator, course presenter or the tea lady, when I have done my cash.
Not an easy game...........

Not the tea lady nor the presenter Mana ...asseblief

What's wrong with taking a straight line PA 100 times and it pays R10.
That's what I think racing is about not putting in the whole field and hope the biggest donkey comes in and the fancies flop.
That's like taking a lotto,just hope,no need to study.

All the other exotics bets were caught and paid well ... racing is competitive in Kwazulu ..
We have many posters on this site who find value and give reasons why the favourite in a race cant win. To each their own and big punters have no guarantee that what they lay out will give a return ..

Durbs whether u agree or not it is a lotto every bet as their are so many things that can go wrong in a race ... bookmakers create the odds not to please punters but entice u to bet.
