As for this Thread - how about for reg races the first 3 - within the brick (I assume?) positions. But to the side a couple of wooden 'pens' for 4th and 5th for 'Listed' and above races?

Night racing will happen when it is time to happen. Until then we have day racing in Gauteng as it is the time for this to happen.

Dont be hasty as night racing will upset the horsies housed in the wooden boxes at Turfies.

Greyville has pretty lights lets rather race there more.

Kenilworth would look nice with Lights.

Vaal in the middle of winter would be awesome with lights. Freeze your ass off at the river. Put commentators booth in the middle of the field with now heating.

Moving the parade ring to the front of the grandstand is a great move and will compact racing considerably. However having had a look at the size of the area for owners/trainers/jockeys, this looks severely restricted and perhaps the answer should have been to have ONLY the winners enclosure in front and have the balance of runners return to the back. This will allow more space and also not offend the owners of the 5th placed horse who will always have a place in racing.

The only thing I'm slightly 'concerned' about is that the Horses will have to walk beneath the stands in order to get to the parade ring - or have I read that wrong?

Which might just 'spook' the nervous types. . .

Jam i dont think thats anything to worry about, the roof is high and its quite wide.

The pathway for the horses from the stables to the front of the course looks very narrow to me..they need to widen that as nervous horses are not going to enjoy that walk to the parade ring..its gonna be a problem,
