So they interviewed Snaith before the race and he said that they going for the Matchem stakes so this was just a blow for the odds on,best weighted horse in the race Speed Machine.
So in other words he was telling us this horse probably won't win as it's not fit enough yet and duly doesn't even run into the PA.
When trainers are setting up a horse and not going for the win it has to be reported somewhere and not 5 minutes before the race so exotic punters can play accordingly.

You just never know what these trainers are scheming with their horses so what the hell is the use of the form book if a trainer brings his horse to the course underdone?
Isn't there some type of rule that every horse must be brought to the course to try win not use the race as a training gallop?

Snaith probably Snaithed himself.
Like Bob was saying the trainers don't know themselves what they got.
