Kenilworth, Saturday 20/11

Race (1)
The work-rider races are difficult, invariably the form is pretty average, so sometimes backing a jockey is the way to go, however I avoid betting on these races. The good thing about the work-rider race, unlike the apprentice races, they are invariably closely weighted. Ever noticed in the appie races, the horse with the best form, has the heaviest jockey who is claiming "jack", he gets rolled.
Race (2)
Of the entire field I think French Declaration is running closest to it’s rating of 80. The rest, whilst rated higher, I don’t believe they are performing close to their official ratings, i could be wrong. Based on this, I make French Declaration a runner, probably start as favourite come race time.
Race (3)
What A Cherry, gets the vote. Wasn’t well away on debut, was always chasing but stayed on well once the penny dropped. If this was over 1200m, I would be extremely confident she would win. The field is largely unexposed, so anything could pop up and win, but I’m relatively confident What A Cherry will win.
Race (4)
For me the key to the race is Fourie. He has opted to stick with Exceeder whom he won on last time out, albeit a Maiden race, rather than ride either 3 year old from the Snaith yard, both of whom he has also ridden before. I think it’s a tough ask for 3 year olds over this distance, this early in their careers, but I could be wrong.
Race (5)
Again Fourie the key, but this time I will play to beat him. Snaith has three runners in the field and it’s not a case of Fourie can’t make the weight, would be interested in the reason he didn’t choose a Snaith ride. Get I will know after the race whether he made the right decision. Going to row in with Kariba Hall. Appears to have regained it’s best form since returning from a rest.
Race (6)
Not only am I a huge fan of Cosmic Highway, he is well in here and it will take a good one on the day to lower his colours.
Race (7)
Ambiorix to put them to the sword even though he hasn’t run in 167 days.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

The dogs are barking about Captain Fontaine and let's hope he delivers. Has not beaten much but impressive in all 4 wins. Opposition today much stronger and I predict an upset result.Lets watch closely...
