Don't discount Winter Flight next time out. Kennedy was tugging on the reigns last 50m and he got the 'out of the places run' he wanted (a fake baulk which happened on the bend as well - these guys are pros and next time out don't be surprised if the comment is something like "had bad luck in running ignore last). Watch the bounce back next time. Here comes the Rain, a very good selection. My bad. We'll get'em Durbs...You just wait. You have to anticipate the trainer thoughts and subsequent 'instructions'...HCTR was prime for this one and Muscutt knew it, besides Winter Flight wasn't paying much. It (WF) certainly cannot take another hit in the ratings or the form would be over, but now, it might drop an MR point (4th) for the next and be further primed and maybe even pay 9/2.

Don't think he knew that Leo.
They backed Winter Flight from 5-2 into 1-1 and HCTR drifted from 6 to 10-1.
Why do you think Hollywood don't want KZN racing to cease?
I Kknow you don't follow the money but the way money is so wrong most times in this centre it keeps them sponsoring all and sundry for free with the extra cash.

Remember old Leon Erasmus... He was brilliant at these games and I learnt a lot from studying his formlines over the years. I often spotted 18/1 or 20/1 or even 25/1 winners from his yard. Same story. The only trainer I have had to do with that seems to run for the line everytime (mostly), whether in with a winning chance or not, is David Nieuwenhuizen from the Turffies. You gotta look for that one reason it won't run or needs a bit more time.
In Winter Flight's case it is simple. Month in, 22 days out. You should always be careful when betting a horse that has run longer to show improvement than days since last race. I think Winter flight has more to come, but this was too soon especially after the penalty. He will run a very good race next depending on the circumstance of course. To be honest it was just poor judgement on my side and not putting in the time to study. It was Herecomestherain all the way and I think the race was pretty legit for a winner, but not too keen on the 'pulling reigns' antics it costs many punters lots of exotics Dollars. Things always easier in retrospect right...Luckily I didn't punt it at that price.
Stay strong Durbs, we'll outwit them tomorrow. Let's face it form is not in the lines, but more often than not, what is written between the lines.

What you said there Durbs reminds me of the pearler from Nico yesterday, when complimenting the WSB guy - I know you win a lot of punters money, but thank you for sponsoring these races.

Terrible ride by Khumalo. Had the horse on the inside and too far back in the straight!!

3 years 4 months agoAfter the scratching of Valencia, Camora in the 8th race looks healthy value at 10/1. After it broke its maiden, it ran in Conditional Graduations and higher merit rated handicaps. Its only run in the Polytrack was 5th but in that race horses with a merit rating of 74 to 109 ran. The most outstanding thing about this formline is that the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th have all won and another ran 2nd in a listed feature.
mighty STIIIF there Naresh........... i said the # 9 can't WIN...... so the horse drawn 10 wins !!!!!
what do i know .:S :woohoo: :S :woohoo: hope u went e/ way .

Maybe Apprentice Hlengwa can improve more and become a decent rider.
