4RACING MEDIA RELEASE
SUBJECT: Turffontein today postponed to Tuesday 8 February DATE: Saturday 5 February

All TAB bets taken on the postponed Turffontein races will be refunded and betting pools for the meeting will open anew on Monday.

They should have standby meetings if a venue gets cancelled.

By this I mean, if South African meetings gets cancelled especially in Gauteng, other Australian venues exotics should be offered like Trifectas, swingers etc. Its summertime now so Australian venue's last race is around 14h00 our time and much later for Western Australia. Today Toowoomba is only offered and ends after 13h05. Its like 2 hours wait before UK. Revenue lost.

This also should apply for UK meetings if one gets cancelled another can replace it with exotics.

As for USA, they keep offering for Aqueduct exotics and in the last 10 days three meetings got cancelled while at Gulfstream, Florida there is glorious sunshine.

Its a shame though that they have thrown Dundalk night meetings under the bus.

They pay for the broadcasting rights but then don't offer any exotics and then offer normal bets on later races only. They losing revenue day in day out....

Well done. They added Melton for the morning and Leopardstown for the afternoon. Sanity prevails.

Now Naresh please tell me why we normally cannot have this Australian exotics running in parallel with the SA meetings throughout the afternoon until the UK stuff starts?

Bob - Please don't post the computaform like that - Everytime I load this page now it downloads automatically and opens up. My data is going to finish.

Then some say there will be reforms at TAB lol. Its just a dream. These days i no longer care. I realized even if you cry on top of Mt Kilimanjaro it falls into deaf ears. They read these complaints and laugh about. Maybe we are still at Alert Level 5.

As mentioned it does seem strange that a meeting has been scheduled later in the day - why not run at the same time as Fairview - however seemingly no big threat for thunder storms - let's hold thumbs.

I have taken the following (somewhat optimistic multiple) :

R1: Magic Tattoo (place) - rather take the same price to place, as the two hotties are the same odds to win
R3: Eagle River (win) - not far behind Supreme Warrior (who lines up in the Guineas) and for me should be hard to beat if all goes well
R7: Safe Passage (win) - taking a bit of chance, but he has the form and is still on the up imo - could be a Triple Crown contender
R10: Chimichuri Run (place) - probably now looking for this trip (ran a great race , only 2,4 lengths behind Rainbow Bridge in the Gold Challenge over 1600 last year) - obviously also taking a bit of chance here, as the light weights, especially Goodtime Guy looks well in, while there is no reason for MK to not run his usual game race

For the rest, I do expect Mind Reader to go close, Master Archie I think could be troubled by Sweet Future, while Desert Miracle and Shangani shape up as possible bankers in the P6

Enjoy B)
