If it was not for the poor form of the TARRY yard, I would make RAIN IN HOLLAND the horse to beat.

It will love going over the 1600m and has beaten CLOFOUTIS in the past conceding weight!

Told you so!

I can't wait for Tuesday night....but given the delay it made me think a bit a longer....especially around the 06th race with the fillies... I know this is a brave thread which some may laugh at.

Dessert Miracle may turn out and win by 5, but I like the other two De Kock runners Bold Act and Clafoutis along with Rain in Holland along with the favorite.

My thoughts, Dessert Miracle is by Welwitchsa and to my knowledge the dam never won beyound 1400m, and in the Cape although she was running on, she was never catching Chansonette over 1600m. And given her draw of 10 with a few frontrunners pushing for the lead she could be jostled back in a big way over, over the tight standside track that favors low draws especially over 1400m to 1600m under the lights for first time on a soft track that would make this more like a 1700m race...

Again she could win by 5.

For me Clafoutis ran a cracker against males over 1800m, the way she quicken up at the 400m was impressive and was caught on the line. Like wise Bold Act...was stone last over 1600m and won like a champ in the last 200m. And given that Rain in Holland just ran a few lengths to War of Athena and a grade 1 winner over 1600m we can't leave her out.

All of these horses are running with the same form, a length or two here and there. On the line of form to Eternity Ring over 1400m and 1600m respectability both Dessert Miracle and Rain in Holland shouldn't be far apart.

I will not banker her in, although I know she is classy

Well played

Better bet would be Double Superlative to win the July at 10/1. Fill your socks there.
Xxxcxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I doubt he will meet the older horses that beat him in the Met on any better terms.
I am thinking that Muzi Yeni will get his turn to land the big one if he Got the Greenlight.
3rd time lucky for the horse, Trainer and Jockey.

Ssshhhh.......

Muzi wont be riding GGTL again after the before the race incident in the Champions cup.

MDK referred to this race as a debacle. Will wait for his comments on his web site.

Imo there was no pace, but that should have played into her hands from a handy position - perhaps the trip to and from the Cape took it out of her - but in the race she was beaten fair and square

Probably referring to the delay before the race, and that it was moved to a night meeting in general.

In my view. DM will win a few 1600m races, but not against the top grade 1 performers. I still believe the 1450m range is her best.

The race was run to suit her...even Clafoutis made the running. As her style is usually to sit off the pace. In the last 150m the field was gaining on her, 50m more and she runs midfield.

Reasons a plenty I'm sure....but at the end of the day Mike is s special trainer that had a good day. As punters we get carried away with how many lengths a horse wins by...but not what it beat along the distance and conditions we betting on today.

De Kock stated on his website:

The stable’s star filly Desert Miracle was beaten into third, in the G2 Gauteng Fillies Guineas. Mike commented: “This to me was a totally unacceptable ride. We’ll leave it at that.”

Can't see anything different from the way he rode her yesterday, to any of her wins...

Gav fully went for her 300m from home, she put the race to bed and didn't get home..

I thought the horse was still moving better than most when it hit the front.
It was still cruising while most of the others where already asked the question.
Has De Kock ever thought the horse maybe wasn't fit enough or the distance was a tad too far?
