Fancy the double :-
R2) Steinbeck X (R3) Eleodoro
R2) Steinbeck X (R3) Eleodoro
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Worked on yesterday's card until 2 this morning. There were some races that would not have been possible with form study alone and track info was key. The INTEGRITY race needed a much keener eye and deeper study but was possible. That track info won't be readily available everyday and when you are punting from the bush without DSTV or a podcast you are dead in the water (and track info is often just an indicator anyways). Who wants to sit and watch DSTV all day hoping for a worthwhile tip. Life is short. So much more evidence that your propensity for leaving a race should be stronger than your desire to make a wager. Let's see if we can circumvent the dodgy ones today. Enjoying the SA racing again after a year on the UK cards.
Massive power outage in Pretoria and the routers are dead. Sending this from generator power on a Telkom line. Off to an area where I can sit and work the Durbanville card... All of the best gentlemen, lets go get them.
PS: Let rip on the trainers Durbs...

Three to consider...
Race 1 - 6 Piroshka...was once 5/1, now 3/1
Race 2 - 1 Steinbeck...a bit short priced (was once 15/10, now 1/1) so maybe watch with interest
Race 4 - 2 Sunday Island...3/1 a fair price
All the best to fellow Clanners...

Question, and i am not having a go/dig at TN, the horses that have shortened, if they were bigger (priced) in the market, would you have a go, or, because it has shortened and you missed the bigger price, do you play to beat it?
Personally, if these horses had opened shorter than the prices i got, would still have played the double :-
1 Horse Racing South Africa DURBANVILLE RACE 2 2022-03-09 13:35 1. STEINBECK M/Win 1.52 Pending
2 Horse Racing South Africa DURBANVILLE RACE 3 2022-03-09 14:10 3. ELEODORO M/Win 2.86 Pending

All the best with your multiple...
No offence taken...
I stick to the numbers I post...once it gets too short for a standalone place bet (generally less than 6/10) , then I'll just watch and not have any bet in that race...
I'd already taken Piroshka at 8/10 to place so the shortening doesn't have any impact...just unlikely to have taken at current 5/10 to place...
Only looking for one winning place bet a day (in the set weight races)...slow and steady gets one to their goal...has served me well for a long time...
Didn't get to post yesterday due to mulitple meetings at work...took 28/10 on 8 Taste Maker in Race 1 Fairview...placed 3rd...didn't take another bet for the day has goal had been met
Posted 5 Bush Fire in Race 2 Greyville Monday...placed 3rd but since only 2 places for field of 7, I didn't take any bet...
My Dad used to advise me to never be in a hurry to lose your (hard-earned) money...

All the best to fellow Clanners for today...

Snaith making it hard for me today in the first handicap and so many great horses. In race 6 I thought DAD'S CATCH handled the punishment from the handicapper well over the 1200. At 61kg she flew up after a 2 point penalty. She's been knocking a while though and not sure how much more there is to come. A few others seem to have extra to come and its scary. She is very well weighted though and 200m less with a good draw around the bend, could just do the trick. She'll be first or last. Having a 5/1 EW. All of the best Clanners.
