I think LINEBACKER is going to give JET DARK something to think about in the GOLD CHALLENGE.
G.v.n. rides Linebacker.... who he rode 2nd in the July last year... I would imagine he will keep the ride in the July..... this run will bring him SPOT ON !!!

Reading between the lines, it could be that the Challenge is JD's main mission (I have not read anywhere that the Snaiths are saying 'JD will be a big runner in the July' - as opposed to talking up their other horses like Hoedspruit, Do It Again and even Warrior and Belgarion), while I think Linebacker has the July as his target (where he will get weight from Kommet and Jet Dark - if he runs)

I see two of the Tarry runners Without Equal and Cornish Pomodoro have been taken out - 'injured in transit' - makes one wonder if the problem happened in the float - and if so were their other runners in that float - guess we won't know until it is too late

You read my mind - I did the same this morning - JD for the Challenge onto Linebacker for the July

Race (1)
On exposed form, Vasilikos is the one to beat from a good draw and being a one-time winner. Watch for money on Total Eclipse with the apprentice allowance also from a good draw. United Prince attracted betting support on debut, didn’t go as planned. Got to think it must have ability otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered bringing him to Durban, definite runner.
Race (2)
Without Equal does have the most consistent form, but the danger is he’s had five attempts at trying to break out the maiden ranks, any forward first timer could win this as well.
Race (3)
Littlemarysunshine must be the confident choice from the draw.
Race (4)
Union Square had valid excuses last start. Provided he doesn’t concede too much on the break, should give the stable a quick double.
Race (5)
Looking at the betting, Warrior, must be assumed this is a prep run for a bigger race. He’s style of running, should be okay for the Greyville track. Has run once at Durbanville, on debut, did “okay”. Firealley carries top weight from a wide draw, for me, difficult task. Reunion, should finish in the first three from a widish draw. The value could lie with Mount Anderson, ran above his rating last time out and was not penalised. (Worth an owner, trainer and jockey double into the July)
Race (6)
Supreme Quest if she gets away on terms must be a runner here. Not sure how Zarina will perform after her visit to the Highveld. Stable companion Marina could be looking for further, not out of it though, not for me.
Race (7)
Jet Dark should strip a lot fitter and the two biggest wins have been over the distance. This race would have been his season’s mission, so going to row in with him. Linebacker prepping for the July, in my opinion, but on best form must have a winning chance.
Race (
All points to Master Archie, well in, weighted to win, probably the best bet on the card.
Race (9)
Hold My Hand on breeding should get the extra.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Early thoughts ....
R1: Vasilikos has the advantage of experience at the track, a good draw and the horse he beat came out to run a very good race in a feature next time - so everything points to him and I think a fair price at the moment; United Prince gets the 3kgs from the favorite, so is an obvious danger; few first-timers - so watch the betting closer to the race - the Roberts stable has been winning a few of these races with debutantes, so I'd particularly take note of any support for The Bund; Potente finding some market interest, but he pulled up lame on the Poly last time, so I'm not too confident about him
R2: Scratchings have made the race potentially more difficult; again betting support could prove significant; I have a 'feeling' about Zooberi who may improve after a fair debut - but this is not easy imo
R3: Littlemarysunshine all the rage, but I think the price is much too cramped as Skyfull did not do much for the form yesterday; Only Hearts probably the main danger, but any of these could find the improvement needed to win this imo
R4: Union Square should improve over the trip and rates the one to beat; I make the danger Ready or Not, who put up a very encouraging debut, while Aztec Warrior has to overcome the widest draw, but has the form to place imo
R5: Warrior I think needs to win this to have any chance of making the July field; 1800 may prove a bit of a challenge, but he is very capable and should go close; quite a few dangers though - not too much between Mount Anderson, Gainsford and Native Tongue on form, while Reunion and Firealley also have credentials to feature
R6: Zarina does run well at this track, but has a wide draw, so it won't be easy; I prefer the 3yr-old Supreme Quest, while blinkers may improve Homely Girl; jockey arrangements seem to suggest that Zarina is preferred to Marina, while Sweet Future could also feature from pole position
R7: I think Jet Dark will win; only thing that can beat him is a sedate pace and being caught wide on the turn; I suspect Linebacker is using this as his final prep into the July, but he remains the main danger; for me I think the only others that can upset, are Russian Rock and Silver Operator, who could make then come and catch him
R8: Master Archie all the rage, but goes around the turn which could be a problem; Ambiorix I think cherry ripe and a big danger, but if MA does fluff his lines, anything can happen
R9: Hold My Hand looks impossible to oppose; Duchess of Gold for the exacta.
Enjoy
