@Mikesack. I was only in Standard five but remember Star Effort. Star Effort was a filly and remains the only horse to win the Cape Fillies Guineas and the Colts version, the Argus. She even won the Daily News 2000 beating the boys. Her illustrious career was cut short I think in a vehicle accident.

Face North, who won the Mainstay 1800 also died in an accident. Basil Marcus rode it in the Mainstay 1800.

… and several trainers went on the road to near destruction. Don’t want to name as it too subjective. When one end of the see-saw goes up the other end …

I remember Hawaii especially after his USA performance but unfortunately the Vaalies have chosen and named at Turffontein a venue after Elevation who won the Holiday Inns, Summer Cup three years in succession and with top weight too. :)

You guys are top class! My memory only goes back as far as the 2008 July and the Dead Heat between PP & DD

Would you say DD was Justine Snaith's big breakthrough?

Joe Soma should have had more horses when he found Special Preview.
Stuart Pettigrew found a horse called Golden Globe I think and should have had a great deal of support after that.
I hope Rix/Crawford get some decent horses after finding the Kommet.
Hollywood should send a couple to Billy Ruiters.

Stuart had TYSON remember..... did not appear to attract may BIG owners from that, apart from Ian van schalkwyk.....or was he ALREADY with the yard ?
