Race 2: Maiden 1200m

The Pettigrew stable has started the new season in hot form with 7 winners out of their 13 runners. #11 QUEEN OF SMOKE (18-10) has siblings with decent sprinting ability and she showed in her 2nd start that she too has ability. It looked like a big draw was potentially advantageous on this course last week, so drawn at 18 she has a lot in her favour in a field that lacks any strong form. She’s definitely got the best form amongst the raced runners.

#10 LORNA LILLY (4-1) is from a stable that likes a punt and is very capable of bringing them out to win first time. This filly looks like she’ll need 1600m+ on breeding though, but market support at race time would be significant. There are some other first-timers too.
