Bob I am presuming that this was the Cape awards? I just watched this on Sporting Post owned by Hollywood so it's not private there. Two major issues Bortz addressed

1. The don't support the RA and claim something significant is wrong there. He's not the first to have this opinion

2. He won't tolerate the doping happening in Gauteng. Those were not his exact words but that's the message.

Interesting times

1: Not sure what has happened there but as you say, we have all heard stories about the RA

2: Insiders let slip it was the big shots from the cape that got the Jockey Club to investigate the Peters stable as it was "impossible" to improve horses that left the Cape as they have

1. The RA has a history of being a clandestine organisation with an undeniable track record of serving their principals in control of Phum and currently 4Q. Cape Racing was always collateral damage in this process.

Jooste and crew ensured that their lieutenants were appointed to the board of directors of the RA to do their bidding to control racing. The RA owned a significant percentage of Phum and together with the Jooste crew, they controlled racing. The RA was also the entity that appointed majority of the trustees of the Thoroughbred Horseracing Trust who in turn appointed the directors of Kenilworth Racing and controlled this entity.

Clearly Bortz has no time for the RoA who’s an extension of 4Q and arguably a subsidiary of 4Q. 4Q has 100% control over the RoA. Turner knows who she serves and it’s not the horseracing industry at large.

The is no denying that the RA/RoA is a puppet organisation with a shelf life that is aligned to their political masters at Phum/4Q.

2. Bortz called out the Peters stable in no uncertain terms. Ouch!

Very powerful message and look forward to racing having an upswing in the Cape and KZN.
In addition it appears Betway also throwing plenty towards the Summer Cup up North.

Is it early to say "everything points to happiness "

Plenty hard work ahead 💪 but well done to all👏

Bortz andHollywood are doing great things for coastal racing and hopefully Betway will do the same for Gauteng and EC.

However he’s living a dream if he thinks his horses don’t get treatments that are on the wrong side of 7 days. Are the snakesin CT not jealous of new trainers showing them up? Why are they so adamant that the horses couldn’t be improved on? If the horses were so bad why were these trainers still collecting large monthly keep bills from their owners instead of moving the horses on?

Was this speech not close to being disrespectful and disreputable? Others have been charged under above rule for saying a lot less. Now who is telling the NHA what to do?
