I was thinking that very same thing

to accommodate overseas / UK Racing ? i don't know, just a guess... UK 2 hours behind us now.

It does not make sense to me........ every chance of last 2 or 3 races washed out !

12:55 Race 01: MAIDEN PLATE (For Maiden Fillies & Mares) - Distance 1450m

4 Courageous .. There doesn't seem to be any challengers for this filly, has got very strong formlines to boast, only concern is doesn't quite pack that punch when it is required the most hinting that blinkers are very much needed. Runs at very low odds but as punters we don't have much choice but to accept whatever is thrown at us.

13:30 Race 02: MAIDEN PLATE (For all Maidens) - Distance 1450m

1 Policy Of Truth .. Was trying the distance of 1400m in its last run which was after a rest and gelding operation, ran quite decently and was well backed indicating confidence. Today he can get it right and break that jinx of 2nd run after a rest.

14:05 Race 03: MAIDEN PLATE (For Maiden Filles & Mares) - Distance 1800m

6 Crystal Maiden .. Has got every chance to score in this weakish looking field, odds seem to be drifting in the betting market but there are many factors which control it.

Look at the poor tote returns for R1
Winner started at almost evens & second horse paid 12/10 a place with the bookies.
Does anyone actually bet with the tote any more, surely not, & the commentator cant wait to tell the public, just before the start, that the favourite is paying R1.60 a win & 70c a place.
