Singapore: Presvis, so impressive in Hong Kong last month, has been installed as 7-4 favourite torecord a second Group 1 victory in Singapore on Sunday week.

The Luca Cumani-trained five-year-old heads Blue Square's market for the lucrative Singapore Airlines International Cup ahead of Jay Peg and Balius, first and third in 2008 but well behind Presvis when he was second in the Dubai Duty Free.

His former stablemate Bankable
, now with Mike De Kock, is also due to run, alongside Australian Group 1 winner Pompeii Ruler and Dubai World Cup runner-up Gloria De Campeio.

Jay Peg again proceeded onto Track 6 (Polytrack) but stepped up on his work a little with the first 400m at a canter and wrapping up the last 400m at half-pace.

South African trainer Herman Brown could not fault the Camden Park entire’s condition but is still undecided which course to go for tomorrow’s gallop.

“I’m still not sure if I will go for the Polytrack or the main grass track,” said Brown. “I’m very tempted to choose the Polytrack because I really like the way the sand is shifting.”

Race-jockey Anton Marcus does not reach Singapore until the early hours of Thursday morning, but Brown is more than happy to use track rider Chris Taylor in the meantime.

“Anton has ridden here before and it makes no difference to him or me. Chris has worked with Jay Peg all along and knows the horse well,” said Brown.

British raider Presvis, with track rider Nirina Rakotoarisoa astride, came out for a bit of canter on the Polytrack and then swung by the parade ring for a familiarisation exercise.

“We thought it’d be nice for him to get used to the place,” said trainer Luca Cumani’s assistant-trainer Charlie Henson.

“Otherwise, I’m very happy with him. He’s done everything we’ve asked of him.”

Following their hit-out on the grass track on Tuesday, South African duo Bankable and Mythical Flight had a rest day, and just went on the treadmill.

After two easy canters on Track 6 (training track outside the backstraight), Herman Brown’s star galloper Jay Peg finally gave trackwatchers something to look forward to with a brilliant gallop on Track 2 (Polytrack).

With track rider Chris Taylor up, the Camden Park five-year-old cantered off from the 1200m, picked up on the speed at the 800m and sprinted home the last 400m.

“I didn’t see the work myself as I could only see the backstraight from where I was, but Chris told me he was very happy with the work,” said Brown.

“He said he kept moving well and bolted up the last two. He’s clean-winded, fit and doesn’t really need a gallop.

“The grass track looks in good order, but I went for the Polytrack, as all I want at this stage is to keep him sound and happy.

“I don’t want to overdo things, anyway, as horses can dehydrate quite fast here.”

Take that 4/1 guys?
