If the point of your post is to stir controversy, it is a success, so congrats to you, sir.
I love Captain Al. He is a very, very good sire and gets the most American-like progeny of any SAF-based stallion. I have bred the dam of Captain's Lover to him, bought some high-priced stock by him and have total admiration for what he brings to the table. He gets the most uniformly correct individuals of any sire in SAF.
But Jet Master is in another universe, because of his versatility and incredible record with Grade 1 performers.

Does anyone know the cost differences between using Jet Master and Captain Al as the sire?
Barry, just out of interest why did you not want to keep Gitano Hernando in the UK to have a go at one of the 3 year old classics as opposed to aiming him at the Belmont?
Also how do you rate GH relative to the cream of the UK 3 year olds at the moment?

For me personally, Jet Master is a class act! Outsanding record with draded performers....
I'm new to the game but he stands out as the one for the record breakers!
Simply outsanding.... I'd love to see him in the flesh, Pocket Power as well!

Jet Master had amazing 'presence' as a racehorse.
He always dominated the parade ring, and you got the feeling he knew he was something special.
The way he has produced champions from 1000-2200m is amazing.
That Jet Tycoon is something of a clone of Jet master looks wise

Captain Al
- 279 foals up to and including 2006 crop
- 1 GR1 winner (Captain's Lover)
- 3 GR3 winners
Jet Master
- 328 foals up to and including 2006 crop
- 8 GR1 winners including champions Pocket Power, J J The Jet Plane and Mythical Flight
- 4 GR2 winners
- 7 GR3 winners
Captain Al doesn't come even remotely close.

Sabre has said it all, Captain Al gets winners by the truckload but he isn't in the class of the Jet.

It has been reduced from 200k a pop last year to 170k this year. Not because of his performance but because of the drop in bloodstock prices in these tough times.
