An inch of rain doesn't seem like a lot.

I know it is apples and oranges, but it rains a lot more in France and they never seem to cancel racing.

Barry, the question is why is it apples and oranges? I have yet to find an adequate explanation why SA racing is barely better than cricket. If it even drizzles during a meeting we battle to see it through.

Andre I've caught those big stretches a few times, it's the place to shop!

true, its the place to shop.
the point I am making...

we can assume that the betting that is priced up, are agreed by the bookies.
those prices that are longer, are snapped up by claims.
cliams by bookies that think the price is too long, and that knows that some of his punters(maybe the stable) will punt the horses.

the horses that drift so drastic, are either going to be scrathed, or are no good.
the bookies are not that clever (even though some are CA's) to figure out that the horse will be scratched or will be no good..
thin red line from 9/2 to 10/1

bookies will not go and offer double the original offer, unless they know.

so do we have a few groups in racing..s.c.r.e.w.i.n.g. one another..

Groups
1. bookies and trainers
2. bookies and jockeys
3. jockeys and trainers
4. owners and punters

it's one of the 100 traders on interbet expressing an opinion.. 'don't think the horse can win'. That's the beauty of the exchange, multiple books and opinions = best odds and big stretches. Trainers go on form just like punters. A few hundred meters per day on the sand back at home does not equate to a cert on the track. Most trainers are more clever than you think, they've learnt where punting leads. In my experience, a punting trainer is a rarity in this game.

Lsetaro,
shocking news..
some trainers owe more than R700k at their bookies....
they are like punters..
slow to pay..but quick to collect...

trainers..clueless...
spanner..molly and paul...turfontein last race..a while back..
spanner tips molly the 12/1..
molly tips the horse on tellytrack...
paul stunned in the post race interview...his own stable..trainer..

and then there are the ones that cleaned up in KNZ not so long ago..
oops..forgot about Roux and the clan..faantjie and the mates..

my opinion..

thin red line at 9/2
if I believed it could not win..5/1 or 6/1
if I knew it would not run or knew it could not win..10/1

perhaps not the trainer, but the chemical engineer at the stable being the punter

yes thats the problem ITS ONLY ONE OF THE TRADERS ON INTERBET EXPRESSING HIS OPINION AND BETTING TO THE CORRECT PERCENTAGES..the rest of them are damn sheep and wait until each race time to offer prices..its a damn SIN
