JACK MILNER - Distance may make the heart grow fonder but will it make Ginger Hill go faster? Mike de Kock’s filly attempts 2400m and the Scottsville track for the first time when she contests Race 6, a FM 84 Handicap, but she should be up to the task
Kayak, who was a full brother to Ginger Hill, had no problem winning over 2400m so on breeding, she should see it out. She raced away from the field in her last win over 2000m ay Greyville, beating Icy Slopes by 4.25 lengths. Ginger Hill still had a ton in hand, further indication that the trip will suit her.
Half the field are six and as such, Ginger Hill looks the runner with the most improvement to come.
There are some hardened stayers in the line-up and Irish Darling could be the main threat. Craig Eudey’s runner has raced three times over the course and distance for a win and a place and scored a facile 2.25-length success over Akido over 2500m at Clairwood last time out.
Apprentice JP van der Merwe, who rode her last time, will be aboard once again and takes 2.5kg off her back.
The Herman Brown stable sends out Miss Chatty and Miss Lovita and there is little to choose between the pair. Miss Lovita, based on the fact that stable jockey Raymond Danielson has taken the ride, could have a slight edge.
Icy Slopes is 2.5kg better off with Ginger Hill for a 4.35-length beating and while that should not be enough for her to turn the tables, it could be good enough to see her finish in the money.

I'm not too keen on the card and if you can unravel the P6 you could be in for some money.
My likes are:
Governor General
Irish Darling
Thats about all I like.
Happy punting!!!

FormStar's best bet is GOVERNOR GENERAL in the 2nd, but its likely to be a very short priced favourite. Better value could be found with DON'T SAY DON'T in the 4th and BRUT STRENGTH in the 7th.
FormStar has opened up access to full forecasts and formlines for a limited period as part of its beta testing. All you need to do is register, which is gratis, free and for nothing. Details on the site.

Sometimes all it takes is Brut Strength - by Leon Setaro
Racing is at Scottsville today for another tough card to test punters’ will. Finding even 1 banker for the Pick6 looks a formidable challenge,
never mind the other 5 legs and although each race appears to be down to 2 or 3 evenly matched runners on form,
this is Scottsville in the middle of carryover season after all.. and anything can happen.
Brut Strength at the lead in after winning last week over the same track and trip as today
Whilst there may not be a standout banker for the exotics, there is a wacker available at value odds and that is No.2 Brut Strength in the 7th race.
Like most of the field, he’s gone on the drift and is currently available at the exceedingly generous odds of 9/2.
There’s a lot in his favour here as he bids to deliver a repeat of his very decent win over the same track and trip, with the same jockey from a similar draw only 7 days ago.
He’s a small bugga but certainly caught the eye as being tight and fit on the canter past last week and his superior fitness should stand him in good stead to win this afternoon's contest.
