Errr... with so much rain about, maybe a earlier start would be better .... time will tell I suppose.

Sometime ago I suggested that they investigate protecting the course (some form of cover probably) from the elements LEADING UP to actual raceday/time.

We would be enjoying racing from Turfontein as we speak!

Gauteng has more than once been described with stunning inaccuracy as having one of the world's best climates. Maybe P actually believe this cr@p to be true, no matter how many races they have to lose or reschedule. Lol.

If you want horseracing to go ahead on a more regular basis then the whole shebang should be relocated to MOSSEL BAY. It has the second most temperate climate in the world......Second only to Hawaii.
Its in the guineas book of world records ;)

Not sure about rainfall though

PE is close enough and it's even a Phumelela centre, Tommy. Pity the money isn't there. Best year round climate of any racing centre in SA.

why not use both tracks at turfontein on big race days..all features on outside track and the bread and butter stuff on the inside track thereby the outside track doesnt get cut up ..

I think there may be logistical problems using both tracks on one day. The winning lines are so far apart that I think each has its own judge's and commentary boxes.
