Why do jockeys smoke ?

Surely in an industry where your body requires maximum input from your lungs you should not pollute them with all that poison.

Other than Kevin Shea none of the top jocks smoke. Fortune smokes too.

I find this ridiculous. I saw young Gavin Lerena chain smoking about a year ago.

Arguably the greatest player of recent times, this playmaking maestro spearheaded an anti- smoking campaign in 2002. Despite this, the skilful Frenchmen often indulged in a puff.


2.David Ginola

The ex-Spurs shampoo loving pretty boy loves a cheeky smoke. This French heartthrob added to his Va Va Voom and slender figure with a cheeky fag.


3.William Gallas

This hot headed ex-Arsenal skipper was reportedly seen puffing away outside a London nightclub earlier this year. What is it with the French and smoking? If only it were a sport, they’d be world champs!



4. Johann Cruyff

The Dutch playmaker enjoys a regular cigar after a meal, this is despite being heavily involved into anti-smoking campaign throughout his playing career. Maybe he should have taken his own advice.

5.Wayne Rooney

Wayne is like marmite- you ever love him or hate him! Either way there are two things that we can be certain of: he is great for England and loves a smoke.


6.Paul Gascoigne

Who ate all the pies? Gazza did. But at least he could keep his weight down with a multipack of fags. But he is still an absolute legend for his goal against Scotland!


7.David James

Calamity James as he’s known for his regular outrageous mistakes on the football pitch can now add smoking to his long list of errors.


8.Fabian Barthez

Fabian is another extroverted keeper who often partook in football calamities and smoking. This crazy yet loveable Frenchman is well known for heavily smoking, particularly during pre-season.


9.Maradona

This little magician chained smoked throughout his world cup winning, legendry career. Ok, we can maybe let him off with the smoking, but that hand of god- no way!

10.Dimitar Berbatov

Possible the laziest footballer EVER now has a reason for not moving during a match. He should tell Sir Alex, honest it’s the cigarettes!
