I don't think the BW 1900 is cut and dry.... Horses like Forst Vogue and Aslan may not be 100% ready for this race, not that either can't win the race.... What about Ivory Trail to upset, he has had 2 decent prep runs, and even though he carries top weight this may be his only realistic chance of picking up a win in KZN??

Hibs,I don't follow it closely but I would hazard a guess that "the big run" is the Comrades Marathon.I would have hardly expected it to take Gold Circle by surprise...............but then again..................

Robinson Crusoe is Friday value in Betting World 1900
JACK MILNER - Fitness looks to be one of the key factors with which punters will need to contend in Friday evening's R350,000 Betting World 1900 (Grade 2)at Greyville.
This race has always been considered one of the significant pointers to the Vodacom Durban July but now with the big race being run at the end of July, many runners have come into this Grade 2 event a little underdone.
Horses like Mokaro, Fort Vogue and Bold Silvano have not raced since J&B Met day at the end of January so their form is hard to assess. Others such as Omaha Beach, Aslan, Goat, Noblewood and Grisham, will all be having their second run after a layoff.
So with all that in mind the safe option could be to look at those who have shown good current form and topping that list is Glen Kotzen’s Robinson Crusoe. The son of Strike Smartly was amazingly on offer at 20-1 to win The Sledgehammer over 1800m at Scottsville but the shrewdies were quick to snap that up and he went off at 12-1.
Stuart Randolph got him through on the inside rail to win with far more authority than the 0.75-length margin may suggest. While he has yet to win at Greyville, Robinson Crusoe has performed well in both of his races at the track.
He ran just 5.75 lengths behind stablemate Big City Life in the Grade 1 Daily News 2000 last year and in August finished a 0.80-length third to Rudi Rocks in the Listed Darley Arabian over this distance.
Both Randolph and Kotzen have been churning out winners so far this winter season and with just 53.5kg and a No 7 draw, Robinson Crusoe should provide followers with a great run at a decent price.
Aslan may still need a run but he is the Sansui Summer Cup winner and trainer Sean Tarry is no doubt lining him up for a tilt at the Durban July. In his only run back since his November triumph, Aslan did well to finish a 3.25-length fourth to stablemate Regal Ransom who went on to the win the Grade 1 Champions Challenge. If he does not suffer the fate of many who have their second race after a layoff, the son of Silvano has to be a massive runner.
He is reunited with big-race jockey Felix Coetzee and they will jump from a No 2 draw. He has not raced at this track but from his style of running that should not be an issue.
Fort Vogue had an amazing run in the Met to finish just 1.05 lengths off River Jetez but he has been heavily penalised for that run. He has won his only race at this track and is nicely drawn at No 4 so if he is near his peak, expect a good showing from Fort Vogue.
Most punters know the rags-to-riches story of Lizard’s Desire and many experts will be looking to see if Mike de Kock can match the feat with another former Port Elizabeth inhabitant, Bold Silvano.
De Kock has entered the three-year-old son of Silvano in the Daily News 2000 on 5 June so he will at least be expecting a forward showing here.
Others to consider include Ivory Trail, Goat and Speed For Gold.
