Not sure if anyone has already commented on this - apologies if you've already read this somewhere else.
The point is - How on earth does this one time winner make the final field in the July. If I recall - this horse won it's maiden on July day last year. It looks to be blatant politics if you ask me - I have a feeling that if Mrs O didn't own Service Ace, there is no chance this horse would be lining up in the July come the 31st.

Did see a post on freeracer and I would have rather had the zim horse to add a bit spice .

Yip, very contraversial on freeracer...Charl and Robin having a go...some interesting comments mentioned making it a 50/50 but i still agree, no place for one time winners in July no matter if you placed in group races...

My thought was that Service Ace can bring nothing to the party and the Zim horse is an unknown force and may have beaten nothing? but winning the big race in Zim in record time, Ipi Tombi etc just makes me feel that it could make a better show 55%/45% in favour of Zim runner.

I thought that as a (recent) Gr 1 winner Here To Win should have got a run ahead of both. That said, I can't blame them for reckoning that being placed in SA graded races beats winning Zimbabwe graded races, and it's not as if Winter's Night is an unknown quantity. He was trained by Geoff Woodruff before he went to Zim and was a long way below the best of his generation - including, I suspect, Service Ace.

maybe we should allow 12 time winners from kimberly and ngong get into july before horses that are group placed in derbys in sa...ffs get into your skulls that because you have won 10 races it doesnt mean you are better in ability to a one time winner...

I did see the first 4 horserace from Ngong a total joke, hope we can watch race 3 from Clairwood without a premature crossing.

Good camerawork, too, from Ngong. Must be the only place left on the planet where large parts of a race are broadcast in as near to black-and-white as makes no appreciable difference.

My absolute favorite was in one of the six horse fields where the over excited commentator changed his mind three times about the lead horse in the race ... despite the lead never changing .... then he calls the winner only across the line totally out of breath and leave the places to the guess work of the presenters (Luckily they are clued up).
It remains a mystery why we support that crap.
