Hey Greg,you are boggling my mind mate.I have seen methods using numerology and biorythms but they are relatively simple principles.
Now, Please do your best to explain the basis &/or principle of NFA in the least possible "laymens" words....lol

Rob I'm new to this as well, but if it helps here is the website where I came across it ....
www.racingandsports.com.au/form-guide/index.asp
I'm not even sure if this method works but I thought it will be interesting to try it out for a week or so and see what the results produce?

Greg,very interesting.I am not too good with navigating around these tables but have you worked out what the columns represent that make up the NR (I assume that to be "neural rating"in the tables)?

Rob here is the Explanation of Inputs for Neural Analysis that they use...
CP - Career performance assessment based on weight/class algorithms
CF - Current form measured by class/weight algorithms
TIM - Revolutionary time assessment (adjusted algorithm)
JA - Jockey ability algorithm
TA - Trainer ability algorithm
JT - Jockey/trainer combination algorithm
WT - Wet track performance algorithm
Crs - Course suitability algorithm
D - Distance suitability algorithm
$ - Prizemoney earned algorithm
BP - Barrier position (course & distance) algorithm
DLR - days since last run algorithm
The user sets the level of importance from the Preference Scale (1 to 5 or No) for each algorithm and the output weightings are listed within seconds.
The Neural factor analysis will quickly identify for you just who are the main chances in each race, the highest to the lowest based on the factor weightings.

@Gregbucks:
Time consuming, must say?
Are you intending on joining countrymember in the dog house?
By the looks of the selections spilled out, you are in line for a consolation after yesterday's letdown....

Thanks a lot Greg.
Have had a look going back and comparing with results and my own ratings for those races,and will continue for a few weeks and to try to find patterns.
We can compare notes as we go, and maybe fine tune later.

Hi Gregbucks, what I would like to see from this is to convert the ratings into probabilities and then into prices with a 100% book. The objective is to compare the bookies' prices with the inferred prices in order to detect perceived value. If you're not sure just post all the ratings for one race, say today's Greenpoint Stakes at Ken, and I will do the number crunching and post the comparison just for fun. I'm interested to see how the ratings are generally aligned or skewed to the market.

@rob, greg, mac....
Hey! are we not onto some bookie / tote busting system?
Shouldn't we go underground and launch our 'attacks' from there? We can even manipulate the tote payouts; R10 place instead of R1.10!

We're doing it for the Clansmen. I'm waiting for all the runners' ratings for today's Greenpoint. Come, come, now, I have to go shopping.
I will punt a modest R20 place on whom I think has perceived value.
