A few things affect the outcome of races at the Kenilworth new course more than the draw in my opinion. The south-easter(strength of), the size of the field and the length of the straight. 2 examples from the weekend:- Ebony Flyer, where one of the most experienced jocks almost made a hash of it by going to early. In direct contrast to Glen Hatt on Il Sagiatorre where he waited until the right moment(about 250-300 out) to produce the horse to win going away. Reminded me of his ride on River Jetez where in my opinion his knowledge of course conditions especially allowed him to outride Delpech to win the Met. I am also wary of small fields where the pace tends to be false and a false result is usually the outcome.
I am particularly worried about race 7 where croc valley has not performed well in small fields. She gets outsprinted off a moderate pace so be careful of thos race. This may also apply to race 3.
My fancy for the CAPE today is :
Race 4 No 5 Light my candle - she has all the right credentials to win this at a decent price.
Race 6 No 1 Kayhaldin - just feels like the right race
